I'm getting an error message when I launch BF3 that says,

Failed creating D3D device of at least version 10.0 on adapter "NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT..." with driver "Unknown". Error is DXGI_ERROR_UNSUPPORTED ("Unsupported.").

I've updated my video card drivers to the latest and my DirectX is 11 according to dxdiag.

Any idea?

When i run dxdiag it says I have directX 11. What can I do to make sure DirectX is updated (besides updating my drivers -- which I've already done)?

I'm sorry to tell you that the X1300 only supports D3D9 and up to Pixel Shader 3.0. BF3 requires D3D10 or D3D11, just because you have an OS that supports it does not mean your graphics card does.

Hi,

I also just tried running this and it says a newer version has been detected on my machine.

My system specs:

Everything seems up to date. I can't figure out what the problem could be. I've tried almost everything I can think of.

Yeah, sorry to break it to you.
Depends on price range. if you want to be able to run BF3 on Ultra I've heard that a Nvidia 590 will do so, however if you're budget is a bit weaker you can go for a ATI 5770 and still run it on high. Later on you can get a second 5770 and put them in crossfire.

Kool, what is the exact error you're getting?

Yeah, sorry to break it to you.
Depends on price range. if you want to be able to run BF3 on Ultra I've heard that a Nvidia 590 will do so, however if you're budget is a bit weaker you can go for a ATI 5770 and still run it on high. Later on you can get a second 5770 and put them in crossfire.

Kool, what is the exact error you're getting?

Failed creating D3D device of at least version 10.0 on adapter
"NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560" with driver "28562". Error is
DXGI_ERROR_UNSUPPORTED ("Unsupported.")

This is typically caused by not having the minimum required DirectX
support in the GPU.
For NVIDIA GPUs, DirectX 10.0 support is required.
For AMD and GPUs from other vendors, DirectX 10.1 support is
required.
