EA Disconnects - Fix Thread

My situation is weird. I get the "disconnected from EA online" message everytime I: finish a game, or, take a guys dog tag that I have not gotten before. It is really getting on my nerves. I have to tell my friends to kick a player from the start of every match so I can just join...*sigh*...

I get the You were disconnected from EA Online (1) error a lot when I attempt to join a server =(

ruining the game experiance for sure...tried everything in the OP but it aint working yet.

-fresh windows 7 x64 install
-fresh origin and game install
-fresh and updated punkbuster

+ all the steps from the OP.

my network has always worked for me on the xbox and it works for every other PC game , even battlefield play for free.

A. You should be able to play the game fine for around 10-20 minutes. You will then be kicked with a message "failed to connect to EA" or something like dat

A. This is 2011 and for all new routers, Systems and those real Gamer systems this should not be a problem. This came about when EA implemented the new streaming, it wont affect u on BF2. It will affect u on Fifa, BC2 etc.

----- Lets Fix it -----

Most Common Causes
Broken UPNP on your router. Disable it.

- This is post 2009 routers. Some 2009 / 2010 Routers will come under this. Log into your routers backend. Disable UPNP and a default PAT system will kick in. This will make ports forward more stable

Firewall Blocking / etc
- Boot MSconfig in start. Disable ur Firewall and AV if its a windows based one. Disable any other process there that might affect u and reboot.

ECN Packets has been enabled by a Net Speed Tool

To fix this :
1. open a CMD prompt AS ADMINISTRATOR
2. type "netsh"
3. type "int tcp set global ecncapability=disabled"

ECN packets are Refused by EA. These are FAKE packets to fool the connection.

Router Firewall problem

Disable ur Routers firewall (To test only)
Or use DMZ this will put the device on the outside of the firewall.

You have unistalled Nortan like 5 years ago

Nortan installs itself inside ur Drivers. It will create a nice little nest and any verson if removed will stay behind. This can be trigger by something as simple as a ram upgrade to kick u of the net. Google Nortan removal tool.

Forward the port

More then one PC is trying to play BF3 at the same time
This will cause disconnects as the port is the same for every launch it appears. Use this guide located here in order to apply a different port. Be very very carefull and take it step by step

Hi!

I just want to add a solution that worked for me regarding "Server timed out" problem.

Maybe this will work for someone else.

1. I have read all the solution threads on every forum, but did not manage to solve the problem.

2. I thought i was sure about how to open the right ports in the router, but it seemed to be a slight problem anyway.

Now it is working. Settings:

1. Deactivated the Upnp in the router.
2. Bought a program", which helped me to set the the right port settings in the router. For me it was worth the Money ...!

Have been playing 3 Days without a single problem.

- I did NOT turn off the services SSDP Discovery, and Upnp in windows, it works anyway.

- I have deactivated Network Discovery in the Control panel in windows. I do not know if it will affect the game or not, but I just did it.

I am just Writing this to maybe help someone else, in the jungle of different threads regarding the problem. If you want to know which program I bought, just let me know, when I am not sure if I am allowed to mention commersial info in this forum ...!

this is my issue "Game disconnected: you were kicked by PunkBuster. Stated reason: PunkBuster kicked player 'RobinWhiteLion' (for 0 minutes) ... RESTRICTION: Service Communication Failure: PnkBstrB.exe initialization failed"...

I am on a local cable connection with a local ip. Whenever i join a server, after it starts connecting, it gives me an error "Game Disconnected could not join server. Anyone can help me. I'm getting this error since February 2012. I tried every possible solution out there. Pls help.

Still no fix for this? It is very annoying. I stopped connecting to a fresh games, have to wait till it half way, cause I know I wont get to the end. Cant play Co-Op cause it might not get to the end, which would make it waste of time.
Anyone know if a new patch coming soon. Or will they just abandon this game in favor of BF4?
