Punkbuster Kick: Service Communication Failure

I got this message after trying to join three games in Back to Karkand: Game disconnected: you were kicked by PunkBuster. Stated reason: PunkBuster kicked player 'sixtusquinn' (for 0 minutes) ... RESTRICTION: Service Communication Failure: PnkBstrA.exe

Anyone know what's up with this?

try a different browser

I had this same problem yesterday when I uninstalled my BF3 from my C drive where I accidentally had it installed previously. I had the game there for over a month with no problems with punkbuster except the error that I was kicked by an admin. But after I had installed BF3 again to my D drive I started having the punkbuster error:
Game disconnected: you were kicked by PunkBuster. Stated reason: PunkBuster kicked player 'playername' (for 0 minutes) ... RESTRICTION: Service Communication Failure: PnkBstrA.exe

I tried multiple thing and none worked. I checked the PB and the reason why that error occurs is that the port for PB is getting blocked for some reason. After Re installing the on C drive all my errors went away and now the game works just fine.

Don't know if this is a universal fix, but give it try. Hope I could be of some assistance.

I've had this error a few times, and noticed that probably some minor change in the PB registry is screwing things up... Uninstall pb, clean/defrag registry, reboot, reinstall that crappy thing, and you're good to go.

since I bought this fucking game, I cant have it working for more than 1 day without crashing and giving me some kind of problem. maybe I should have gone with Call of Duty...

FIX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This helped me
1. Go to the Bf3 application folder. (C:\Program Files\Origin Games\Battlefield) (for me its D:\Program Files\Battlefield 3)
2. Locate the "pb" folder.
3. Delete the content of the "pb" folder but DO NOT delete the folder itself.
4. dowbnload manual pb updater from http://www.evenbalance.com/index.php?page=pbsetup.php [evenbalance.com] and update bf3

But its not fixed yet
In the same location C:\Program Files\Origin Games\Battlefield (For me its D:\Program Files\Battlefield 3) their is a pbsvc exe file (not in the pb folder)which is an install/repair file, run this, if it only runs for 6 or so lines it hasnt reinstalled properly if runs right through it should be ok.

Hi I see you have a problem with what I had and so I see a C :/ Windows / System32 / LogFiles / PunkBuster and how you in this folder are files or your firewall is doing something with PunkBuster will enter the system and turn off Firewall and it should work (I help) Regards
