so whats the best place to shoot a tank with rpg and whatever the fuck its called? the unguided ones.

I thought it was the tracks and from behind....haha not sure what movie I got that from, but thats where I aim if I have the chance...does it make any difference at all? my tank gets disabled from like one or two shots...but when Im shooting fools it takes like seven I swear....so whats the deal?

also...Is the javelin a higher damage launcher than the rpg etc.?

The rear of the tanks are the weak spots, and the javelin has higher damage but ONLY when used in conjunction with a SOFLAM.

Definitely use RPG against veicles if you can aim. Takes too much time to fire the Javelin....

always shoot in the back or side of the tank.

the butt with anything then the Jav, then you want it to be soflamed so you get the top attack mode....
Hmmm maybe top is the best all around... I don't know I'm not usually in a position to shoot it in the top.
Possession is 9/10 of the law. The other 1/10 is a tank. I have both.

Motion to rename the SOFLAM the SORAVEN, as getting a kill with these or finding someone willing to help? That's so raven.

Tanks have weaker armor on the back and sides, rockets do most damage when they impact perpendicular surfaces. So yes, aim for the engine compartment or track guide wheels.

yea i'm sure if a tank with out reactive armor catches a rocket to the rear it is disabled in one shot.

It seems to vary to be honest, I've disabled tanks from the front with only 2 RPGs so it seems pretty random. Still it seems I get disables and such more often from behind and around the sides.

Yep.

I've also found on the Abrams, at least in hardcore, if you aim directly under the main cannons barrel where the turret meets the chassis, it's also a 1 or 2 hit disable. As long as there isn't reactive armor anyway.

Don't even bother with the Javelin ever. Even if your teamies are using the SOFLAM or CITV. They will almost always miss - I expended over a dozen Javelin on laser-locked targets just tonight without even receiving a hitmarker.

That only thing I find the Javelin useful for is locking on to MAVs, Mortars and other enemy equipment.

but here's the thing dude...how do we know that the game makers made weak spots at all on the tanks? in real life the back might be weaker....but how do we know for continuity sake that its not the same amount of rockets all over? the abrams and t90 I have the most trouble with....the lav's arent that bad obviously.

so someone says the top? isn't that counter intuitive from what we've seen in movies?

RPG or SMAW to the top of the tank is a 1 hit kill. if you can aiming for the top aim for the hatch and it disables the tank and or destroys it with 1 RPG

Maybe but in real life they are that's why the javelin has the top attack mode to begin with. As far as I know any way.

The top of the tank best or back with RDG or SMAW. The Javelin - Soflam combo is great if you have a recon player that can use it not just plant it on top of a hill and hop a tank goes in it's line of sight. Also if there is high building in the way it wont work and I mean anything over 3 or 4 stories.

so you can shoot the top with the javelin? wouldn't that make the javelin better then if in fact the top is the weak spot? what do you have to have to hit it from the top with a jav?
