How to get spot assists?

Don't wanna sound like a noob but how do you get these? I'm trying to get the creeping death assignment yet i've only got 1 spot assist ....?

You need to spot somebody and someone else on your team needs to kill that spotted target.

Well you spot with back don't you? I hear my guy saying 'spotted enemy target' but i get a defense order...? Wtf?

push select on PS3, or back on XBOX360 (while facing an enemy/vehicle..)

also if you the squad leader pushing the spot button will issue commands like defend this objective, attack this objective.(you get points for following orders)

you can also request ammo/medkits from teammates by looking at them and pushing the spot button.

you can also request a ride from teammates in vehicles by looking at them and pushing the spot button.

Spotting is IMPORTANT, and will greatly help your team win. Spotting has a cooldown time when you use it too much.

The easiest way to get 50 spot assists would be to fly your MAV over the map and spot the shit out of the enemy team.

Plus if i do spot enemy players or tanks, it only lasts for like a second, theres no point.

yep, im almost at 1k spots with the MAV. :D

Don't know what the button is on the XBOX, but you press SELECT on the PS3 to spot enemies. Should be a similar button. Most important thing to do in this game.

Ill keep at it, but i seriously spot plenty of people but it never works

PS: Does it work for any other class, and does it count towards assignment?

it works for any kit.

but seriously go play TDM, as a recon kit, and hide off in the far corners and go sopt enemies with MAV, you can get 20-50 in one match if you dont get knifed. :D

The MAV has a motion sensor which automatically spots enemies for your team. You could just hover around a bit and get spot bonuses and motion sensor assists.

If you spot a person or a vehicle they should remain spotted for quite some time, so long as they are still in your field of view. Now, if you spot a person and they immediately run behind a building it will only last a few seconds. Keep in mind that there seems to be some glitchyness associated with spotting. Sometimes enemies will almost immediately become unspotted. Other times they remain spotted even when well out of my line of sight. It's all kinda random. Just spot everything you see and you should get it without too much stress in a couple nights of playing.

This is annoying i spot a lot both normally and with the mav, a few weeks ago spotting with the mav seemed to get a lot more difficult in that they didnt seem to stay lit up for long, i found i have to vary the height of it and use the zoom function more to get them to stay spotted. But i think i have still got spot assists even when they have not shown as spotted as when they died i still got the assist....but it is annoying...just keep pressing the button....best map for MAV is seine

join a game of tdm, switch to recon, hop out the mav, and fly straight up, since most tdm matches are maps with high flight ceilings, fly very high, and just start spotting everything, you will get several ribbons, tonnes of points, /((about middle on teh leaderboard for that match) as well as actually help your team by making sure the entire enemy team is kept track of.
