1 bar ping in australia ??

is any one else only getting 1 bar im usually getting full bars but its lagging jw if me or anyone else

please be advised that deleting your game data as ea help suggest (corrupted files ) does not change anything it only deletes your b2k map pack if you delete you will have to download over 2gb of update and map pack before playing on b2k servers

YES. I have this exact issue. I contacted Live support and they wanted me to delete my game data but i did not want to re-download the patches and knew this was not the issue. Every game I go into is rubber banding badly and there are hardly any servers showing up. Now I will start another live chat and advise them of this thread and that it is not just me.

BTW. Have we all had the issue since the servers came back online last night after maintenence and are we all talking PS3?

i didnt know was down last night i got off at like 9 but i bet thats what it is i only getting like 3 servers aswell

I have had only 1 bar since yesterdays update, but no lag and nothing different from before.

are you with telstra iam with them and they shit most of the time

im with optus and they are usally pretty good im getting 5+6 + mbps so i dont think its my net thats pretty avg for aus ....shit compared to rest of the world thou

lol i get 1 bar to aus.. and were almost neighbors :p.. but EU has better for me and US the best. Japan.. just seems very laggy nomater if its 5 bars or 4..

i always get one bar but i live in the sticks in WA and am mobile broad band hoping my adsl2 gets connected soon and it improves
i have been playing on euro servers cause of my ping at least they have single bars

Same problem. Started when battlelog was updated. Have rebooted the router etc, no help. 4 bars on Japanese servers. Started a thread in tech sup forum yesterday, no help this far.

But the DICE servers are the only ones left now, and I LITERALLY just played a game where I died, then my killer turned and shot at me. IN THAT ORDER, and with about 1 full second between the two events.
It was a shotgun, and I was the only shot he took. So there's no mixup.
Ridiculous.

As far as I'm concerned the DICE servers are EU servers misrepresented as Australia.
Thus I conclude that BF3 has ZERO servers operating in the Australia region, with no explanation from EA or DICE.
Unacceptable.

Bahahaha love the transcript. Why don't they just create a customer service page with a giant "WE ALREADY HAVE YOUR MONEY, SO GET STUFFED" adorning it? Companies that are too gutless to admit they're having tech issues really shit me. Simply say "we currently have technical issues and are working to resolve them. We apologize for the inconvenience." Any reasonable person can understand & accept that. I know they'd rather pay as little as possible for plebs to palm us off, so just have one person update a server status page properly, put off the pointless fob off staff & spend that money saved on server side staff & equipment.

There.. is some sort of traffic shaping going on with the backbone out of Australia. Works like this - Telstra has such and such many slots during the day. Some of them are reserved for business-users, some are not. So depending on priority and type, there's a route switch sometimes after the request leaves your router. And you get shoved between the fiber-optic route (which is actually pretty fast) and the slower mainland route. Sometimes during the day, without any real system or rhyme to it.

And opening ports and so on /sometimes/ sort these things out. Same for other countries with notorious traffic shaping schemes - Brazil, Israel, US.. Basically using ports reserved for real time communication will land you on the priority queue, that kind of thing.

Not that I don't believe it's more likely that an EA guy just happened to reset the database, and filled in all the countries other than UK, US and Canada into a random pool called "other", or something like that. But it's possible it's the traffic shaping that kills your connection out of the country.

NOTHING to do with teltsra or other providers, its been 1 bar since EA maintenance, its like this for everyone i play with

Since the EA fuckup, i've tried forwarding all the BF3 ports and placed my ps3 on a static ISP. No change.
Moreover, the speed of the DICE servers has been VERY CONSISTENTLY SHITHOUSE.
Literally, since day one, the DICE servers have been a crock of shit and i've avoided them like the plague.
But now there's no choice.
And neither EA nor DICE have fronted up with a reason why.
