Russian Roulette doesn't make sense

You know, Ive been thinking.

How is it that russian roulette is played? How is it exactly that its a game of chance?

I ask this because you can clearly see the bullet when its in the cylinder. Its only when you CANT see it that you have to assume and take a chance that it is either in the 12 or 6 o clock position.

So take tha famous scene from Black Ops or even from The Deer Hunter, the movie from where the game stole the scene from. Why do the character yell and scream and are in complete and total stress that they are being forced to play russian roulette? They dont have to. They can just simply LOOK at the gun and see the bullet.

Some people put dummy rounds into the other chambers, thus eliminating the chance of seeing the real round.

EDIT: If you want hardcore Russian roulette, play with a magazine-fed weapon, I will pay you £1,000,000 if you survive.

I'm sure that if the victim tried to eye the cylinder to check for a live bullet, he'd get slapped by Victor Charlie. Their slaps feel like rocks, too; Deer Hunter captured that perfectly. Black Ops' was alright, but just didn't feel the same without the bookie speaking Vietnamese, and the slap didn't sound loud enough.

You mean Russian roulette, but with a semi-auto? Sounds too corruptible; some guy could decide to be a total prick and rig a game and give the guy a magazine filled with live rounds, as opposed to, say, a magazine with blanks and lives.

Here's how Russian roulette works...

Revolver has 6 rounds...
5 rounds are blanks, only 1 is real.

Its a game of chance....

You know blanks can kill just as well as live rounds right? No, I mean playing Russian Roulette with a round filled magazine, you need the force of a live or blank round to knock the slide back to load a new round in and reset the hammer for the next guy to have a go, and OP is going first.

I'm pretty sure if you held a gun to your head and fired a blank round it'd still fuck you up badly.

A blank round can kill mate, even though no solid forward projectile is propelled out of the barrel, a lot of crud that makes the flash and bang to simulate a real round does, at the same speed of a real bullet, and can, and have killed people.

Again: Who the fuck would play Russian Roulette for money? There are far easier and less-lethal ways of making money. I could see if you were forced into it, and all, but god....

In actual russian roulette, the spinner wraps his hands around the revolver before he gives it to the player.

The player must than take it over without looking in the chambers. And put it to the side of his head directly.

Funny thing is we didn't actually make this game :D, Vietnamese did.
Now if you want real "russian roulette" you need few items.
Freshly killed octopus.
Two gorgeous women.
A man with a very hair stomach.
And a lot of pure wodka.
And american candy "Reese's Pieces"
The Messiah of the Republic of Off-Topic.

I thought there was only one round in the cylinder.

Blank rounds don't shoot projectiles, but the discharge will cause severe burns, especially if the muzzle's right up into someone's temporal.
