So on review sites it says that I should be getting 50-60 fps in bf3 max settings however I played today on bf3 gulf of oman on ultra 90 fov and it was terrible. I constantly get 45 fps and it dips to 35 sometimes.

Does anyone else have this same setup and do you have issues with the game?

core i5 750

i dont think so, with out actually looking at any benchmarks. the 660ti isnt exactly a performance gpu. more like mainstream.

also, review site dont play ,p, only sp. they also state (in most of them) that the fps will be drastically different.

i play on a 920@ 4.2, ht off, with a 7970 and no bottlenecking. im sure youre fine and withing reasonable mp standards. drop down to medium/low settings.

The problem with the 660ti is that it has a 192bit bus. The memory bandwidth of the card is too low for Ultra textures in BF3. Sorry, but I recommend to play at High settings with a 660ti because Ultra textures and MSAA is too much for it.

damn.. I upgraded from a 460, sad to see that 660ti isn't that great.

Definitely. 2.6 ghz just isn't enough for BF3.

try oc that 750 and it will run fine, i have mine at 4.2GHz and its not necking my GTX690 atleast i even playing at 2560x1440 so it would prolly be my single GTX690 necking my setup

Basically the same kind of card hey, if you wanted a big difference you should of gone for a 670 / HD7950

I got the same specs, but you sure its a 660ti 1 gb? Mine is 2 gb and factory oc'd. I have no issues running ultra (without msaa) @ 1920x1080, getting 50 - 60 fps, lowest is mostly 45. Depending on maps, avg fps can be 50 - 60 - 70 - 80.

And my cpu doesn't hit a full 100% either. ~80% is my cpu usage on 64player maps

And i upgraded from a gtx 460 se

Review sites are based on the campaign not in the multiplayer, update your driver or try another preset.

During the game, Open windows task manager and look at the CPU usage, if your CPU power is at 100% then yes, the CPU may actually be bottlenecking it

It will be yeah cause I have a 760 and get almost 100% during game play.

The CPU isn't going to bottleneck your GPU, especially not an i5. You could be running an i3 duel core and get the same performance. It's something else on the GPU's end.

It seems to be reaching 90% but usually stays at 85%

It is an older first gen i5, but I really doubt that a measly 660ti is bottlenecking it. especially when during that era, the 480 was extremely powerful

Yep thats a bottleneck. Get Hwinfo and afterburner, and get the RTserver to display your CPU and GPU usage on screen while in game. That should give you a better idea.

if he just would OC the 750 it wouldnt bottleneck since it doesnt bottleneck my GTX690 at 4.2GHz
