The rumor about an "all American DLC" began a few days ago when a couple guys on Youtube stated ”I have a source telling me that there will be an all American DLC,” adding "based on New York City, Miami, New Jersey, and I think it was San Francisco.”

But nobody took it seriously until EA VP of Investor Relations told analysts yesterday "you’re going to hear some announcements from us on Battlefield actually as early as next week in an event we’ve got in New York”. He added "we’ve got plans for all of our major franchises to turn them into more of as we’re seeing with FIFA and with Battlefield more as games for service that have constant flow of downloadable content.”

You could lay money that the announcement taking place in NYC is not a coincidence. Predictions? I just hope the McDonald's building is fully destructible.

I have a source telling me that the "All American" part is fabricated and you shouldn't believe it, then get your panties in a bunch when it turns out it's not All American and then you get mad because zh1nt0 didn't blow your ass off the internet or something like that.

This. Honestly I wouldn't care if the maps were in Iceland as long as they made them 4x larger on the PC version. Or even just brought back some of the other BF2 maps -- Dragon Valley, anyone?

Unfortunately I think this is another area where the PC version is being hogtied and ballgagged by the console version -- and this isn't just conspiracy theory -- I think EA wants as little disparity between platforms in terms of feature set and maps as possible. And let's face it, with Xbox360 version selling more than PS3+PC versions combined, we know where their priorities are.

Unfortunately I have to admit that regardless of the new console reality that the PC platform is staring down the barrel of, at the end of the day if DICE is extending a spoon, any spoon, I guess I'm going to take it and I'm going to swallow and I'm going to say "thank you very much" and "may I please have another."
