BF3 keeps minimizing to desktop

This problem occurs about 3 or 4 times within a few hours. Im in game and all of a sudden, the game minimizes and puts me back at the desktop. I have to go to the task manager and end the game. Not only that, but it reflects on my "quits" percentage in my stats. It has to be, because I hardly ever quit a campaign. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Try dropping your RAM latencies to 9-9-9-27 and 1.65V with a CPU/NB Voltage of 1.25V

At first, i had my RAM set to 9-9-9-27 @ 1.65V, and was having the same problem. However, I havent made any adjustments to my CPU/NB Voltage.

I doubt it, I have the exact same problem as the OP and my Windows key is disabled. Happens consistently every hour or so. Event viewer logs "Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered." every time it happens. No other details. I have the latest drivers for all my components and all my GPU clocks back to stock/standard levels. Temperatures are all normal too (55-60C for my GPU when it crashes/minimises). I have no problems with any other games.

It'd be great for this to be fixed sometime soon... I've read about this problem a lot on the internet and I'm not sure if it's a driver issue or something a patch can fix. It's really annoying regardless and I've not been able to stop it from happening :(

I don't think those temperatures (55-60C) can cause overheating. It's a very reasonable temperature for this card under load. I have other games that run at least five degrees higher than BF3 too. I don't understand... lol

I've tried underclocking the GPU so the temperatures would be lower and I still had the problem. So I just have the clocks set at reference level now.

Anyone else have this issue? Any success figuring out what could be going on - GPU overheating included?

I am having the same issue. I have tried almost everything. I also have a 580 video card, and from what i can tell, almost everyone that has this problem has a 500 series. I even did a clean sweep of my drivers to make sure everything was perfect.

I also use to have this problem, and the problem that cause it is the Display Driver is resetting, and I fix it by going to Registry Editor (type in the start menu " Regedit ") then go to " \Registry\Machine\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Video\ " Find " MaxObjectNumber " change the value from (7) to (0), then close the Registry, then you can enjoy the game with no minimize.

However, you may have to do this every time you start your computer, because for me it seem like the setting is revert everytime I shut down the computer. Hope it help.
