EA servers disappearing

Ok, so pre-patch I always played on the EA conquest-only servers (that's if I was playing conquest, which I mostly do), ever since they introduced the DICE servers that change game mode with every new map. I installed the patch yesterday and a few of the EA servers were still available.

Not today.

lnstead, there are those DICE ones and about 700 rental servers. The EA ones seem to have totally vanished.

WTF is going on?

Yeah this is bullshit... I like the custom servers because they are a novelty and are good for getting better stats and levelling up guns, BUT I like playing conquest on many maps and not for 1000 tickets.

I no longer can go "one last game before bed" because that game will last two fucking hours!!!

EA are greedy for taking away one of the core things about this game.

do like me: remove the 2GB B2K patch to play back to the real BF3 .. there are still many people and many EA conquest server ..

The E/A servers are the only ones with just Conquest only or Rush only rotations, the ones we got with the game,

These are the one i would like to see back in numbers, Very hard to find,all i would like to play is just straight up Normal conquest in the rotation of all maps.

yes i play on rented but it does get boring finding one you might like and 700+ tickets taking from 1 hour upwards Boring again.

It's a good thing if you like 700-ticket Operation Métro non-stop, or you like getting randomly kicked from a server for doing well.

Fair enough, the majority of them seem to be conquest-only servers, but I liked the old way. Plenty others do too, from the looks of it.

How is rent-a-server pay to play? It's pay to rent a customizable server....

Go to server browser settings and uncheck the custom option........it'll remove all private servers and the Dice/EA servers will be more plentiful.

Not a fan of the new server system at all, im hoping it will sort itself out in time.

I'm frustrated to all I want to play is every cq map with normal tickets like the ea servers did.

Exactly my thoughts. That option seems to be no longer available...

Nope, even if you uncheck the "custom" preset, there are still hundreds of custom servers using the "normal" preset.

That doesn't work you still get flooded with custom servers I wouldn't mind if it showed you the ticket count.

there are NO EA DICE servers (very very few if any) in australia only custom/rented
a lot of these rented server's are " X amount tickets 24/7 metro etc etc etc" thats fine from time to time NOT ALWAYS

so my platoon could play ALL MAPS conquest like we used too for free WE HAD TO RENT A SERVER (or play with bad lag on over sea's server)

i think that could be seen as PAY 2 PLAY

ea and dice server's will keep vanishing until there is none.......

Incorrect - I didn't have the custom preset option ticked, only the normal one.

Search settings are as follows:

>Players: Any
>Mode: CQ
>Map: Any
>Preset: Normal
>Ranked: Yes
>Region: Europe

Show running games from Official EA servers - YES
Include and show games when the server is full - NO

Even when I enabled the last option, no EA servers (even full ones) were showing up at all!

@reaper_oz_: Unfortunately it does look like that's the way it's going to be. I too am a big fan of conquest, and the old server format. I suppose you're right, in a way it is pay-to-play now, because you'll have to get your own server to play it like it used to be.

And it was all going so well...

I am a fan of the pre-patch EA only servers but if you take time and check the server b4 you joining you can find them set up with just conquest or just rush also like grifter2420 said if you manipulate the server browser settings you can find you style of game play that menu is very very customizable on the us east servers i found 5 servers with all maps conquest only at 7 30 am so I will give it a try and be patient this will be an ever evolving situation I think. Plus most of the rented servers so far will allow joiners i have seen some marked private but there are many that are not I wont pay any extra to play so i will server jump all the open and free ones.

Using the search settings I mentioned previously, I returned 78 pages of servers, so 857 in total. I quickly searched through every page, and didn't find one EA conquest-only server.

I appreciate that some player-funded servers are conquest-only, but I don't agree with an individual having the power to remove players from the server for no apparent reason. Whether they pay for the privilege or otherwise.

Also, this 7 million ticket thing is a load of shit, IMO - i'm sure others will differ.

The old servers need to be reinstated, though this was obviously a conscious decision to replace them.

Including an option to search for, or to exclude, these new custom ones is essential too.

I agree I didnt find one EA server either, The old servers DO need to be reinstated and the massive ticket thing does suck. lets hope they make some changes sooner than later.

Cosigned, I also would like the option of playing on a conquest only, all maps EA server. I got kicked twice yesterday from private servers for no apparent reason, as I'm terrible at the game.

That happened to me too such BS is already starting 1 day in it made me pretty mad

@efilnikufesin: Hopefully sooner, because as it is - ironically, with around 700 servers - I pretty much have none to play on. I don't fancy the player-run ones, and I don't want to play a different game mode with every new map, as is the case with the new DICE servers. My choice now is to either wait for a fix, or rent a server.

I won't be doing the latter.

So the patch is turning out to be a mixed blessing...

I'm just surprised that there's very few conquest only, all maps, regular tickets type servers. Of course, I could buy one, but that's their aim, I suppose.
