Best assault weapon?

Hey guys, I recently stopped trying to get up my recon and decided to start on assault and I wanted to know what the most useful weapons are (overall).

I have been using the Famas w/ 4x ACOG, Foregrip and Heavy Barrel.

KH2002, Foregrip, Heavy Barrel, Kobra RDS / IRNV (only for seine crossing)
Killer weapon for all distances. 2297 so far, and i still think this weapon is beautiful.

The FAMAS is like the worst gun in the game pre-patch. Try the m16A3 w/ sight of preference + heavy barrel/flash suppressor. For a little more control, try the M416 - my favourite. No foregrip, no sights... heavy barrel will do the job!

Yeah, I just started using the G3A3 and the difference in the recoil is stupid, the Famas' recoil makes it almost inoperable

They all pretty much have their own niche now. I'd run you through them but I'd rather just tell you to look up TheRussianBadger's post-patch assault weapon guide on YouTube.

Any gun because it isn't the gun it's the guy pulling the trigger is the one making the gun. I have used all assault and have 500 plus kills with most are I am working on them. But that goes for any class

You are right I think some should figure it out there self folks have different ways of playing the game this is not call of duty were the guns feel the same

m16 is obvi the easiest

Excuse me, I was simply wondering about what people thought was the best most useful gun, I never said I wanted to use the best gun right away, I AM testing the guns and with the input of the people from the Battlefield community I was going to make an class accordingly, I have no unique style of gameplay therefore people who play like me will find weapons good for certain things but I clearly cannot get that from people such as you.

Notice in my original post it says "I wanted to know what the most useful WEAPONS are" (emphasis on the s at the end), that means I am wanting a run down of the weapons and which so ever suites my style I will use and see how I like it.

You are not special my boy. There are thousands of noob-threads like this which just rely on the internet (lol) to do YOUR job.
Besides, everybody has their playstyle: Your t2t (time to target), HK%, accuracy, reactionspeed, Situational Awareness... Everything that is personal creates your playstyle. If you can't aim and are more defensive, you use the AK, if you are really aggressive, have a good accuracy and are mostly in CQ, you use the AEK/M16. If you do not know your playstyle, then please stop asking these retarded questions.

If you trulty believe in that, with your little "s" at the end, then you are contradicting yourself so many times... Biggest one is the title, which clearly says weapon. Explain that to me? And now don't relate to the sun and the tide please.

Oh and to answer the question:
The AN-94 is my favourite. Its amazing at mid to long range but can be tricky to use because of its burst fire. Doesn't suit everyone.
The M16A3 is probably the best all round gun as it can handle most situations. Its very similar to M416. Both of these are great :)
The AK-74m and L85A2 are really easy to control and accurate but suffer at close range due to there slow rate of fire. Solid mid range weapons.
I wouldn't touch the FAMAS unless I expected to be REALLY close to the enemy.
The KH2002 is a really good all rounder if you like burst fire weapons.
The F2000 and AEK-971 are amazing in close combat but are hard to control when shooting at range (use fore grip on both).
The G3A3 is solid as it does more damage then the other assault rifles, but I don't like its slow fire rate or low magazine count. Best used for mid to long range.

Since BF3 has no recoil on the AR's you do not need the AK or the L85. They only have a low RoF which makes you lose a lot of gunfights or lets you miss a lot of kills.
F2000 is a really really bad gun,
AEK is one of the best: No recoil, HB+Foregrip = low spread. High RoF makes you kill really fast.

AN-94 once you know how to use it

Your post is useless. OP was just making a question, he could just be curious or wanted to try something that someone else have already experienced. You can learn a lot from other experience, you don't have to do everything by yourself. Sometimes is better to shut up and let the other think you are an asshole than speak and give people the proof.
Anyway KH2002, F2000 and AN-94 are all good rifle. I like the G3 too, but is not easy to use (at least for me, i've seen people dominating with that gun)

^^ This, but I prefer the L85a2 with Kobra/Iron sights and a flash...It's my favorite.....The KH2002 comes in 2nd, while the AN-94 and the G3a3 is 3rd in my book

M16a3 hands down. though ak74 is good too and I actually love the famas

F2000 it is. I love that Bulletsaw :)

For me AN-94 is the best. Once you get used to the burst fire you are a threat up close as well as mid to long range. I put HBar-Bipod on it and out snipe snipers. I also run Holo. 2 round burst essentially puts 2 bullets in the same place for one trigger pull. I think of it like a double damage round. Don't use grip as it increases bullet spread at range thus diminishing the benefits of the gun's accuracy. Has almost no horizontal recoil with out an attachment.

L85A2 is a great gun for me as well. Low ROF allows you time to adjust your aim before the mag runs out. For some reason the recoil on this thing is great and feels like a laser on most days. DO NOT take this thing into close quarters as most every gun has a better ROF and will cream you all things being equal.

Many of the top notch commentators (Rival and LvlCap) use the M16A3. It is the best all around gun and has a super fast reload time.

It is all about personal preference. Figure out what works for you.

The G3a3 fits my playstyle, as well as the ak-74m and an-94

I have been using the M16 a3 alot. I unlocked everything on console + service stars with all of the others. I still prefer the weapon that they gave me lol.

Yeah the FAMAS sucks ass post patch, the recoil and the magazine count are actually quite humorous. The M16A3, AN-94, or the G3 <3 at first kill hehehe

depends on what you are going for...

You played a lot of recon so you might consider a really, really precise weapon like the AN94...the insane 2-round-burst makes this gun essentialy feel like a DMR. The G3 performs similar in this regard, even though it feels more like a full-auto SKS.
KH2002 is extremly precise too...but the 3-round-burst which can be pumped up to be nearly full-auto with 800rpm which gives the gun an edge over G3 and AN94 in close quarters. Same goes for the M16A4.

If you would like to go more close quarters it´s AEK-971 or F2000 all the way. Both offer you a great firing rate with low recoil and easy to handle recoil. This makes those things pure full-auto monsters up to 100m.

Both, M16A3 and M416 are still deadly in close quarters...but still offer a lot long range precision if your aim and gun control is good. Especially the M16A3 is famous for it´s amazingly short reload time which sometimes even removes the need for using your backup pistol. Those two absolutely rule in close to mid range while still being deadly on longe range.

The last two, AK74M and L85 trade a lot of their firepower in for low recoil and high precision. You can easily go fullauto with those at mid ranges and still stay on your target. But the low firingrate could cause quite some frustration in close quarters. But on mid ranges up too long ranges they are the best you can get...only on really long ranges they can get a bit outperformed by guns like the AN94. Gun control is key in such firefights.

Shotguns are a viable options too...I recommend the M1014

So always keep in mind...there is no best gun for every map and situation. Nothing will stand 1000rpm in close quartes but try to win a firefight against an AN94 with the FAMAS at 200m+.

Now to Attachments

Well it kind of depends on the map and gun you play on. But usually you can´t go wrong with a sight of choice/flash suppresor/heavy barrel combo. A M16A3 with heavy barrel will be a good alround and balanced gun...but a AN94 with haevy barrel still has the edge in precision. But if you sneak around him with a AEK-971/F2000 and a silencer he will stand no chance in a close quarters fight. It all depends on situation and playstyle.


Keep in mind...just because you think a certain weapon is meant for longe range it doesn´t mean a heavy barrel is the best choice. For example a heavy barrel on the SCAR-H is more or less a waste. The weapon is precise enough for 95% of the usual combat ranges and the little damage drop off distance boost is pretty much useless since the difference in bullets to kill between max and min range is only 1 bullet (4-5). Rather use a laser pointer since you usually don´t have enough time in close quarters to aim down sight. The laser sight will give you enough hipfire-accuracy to get out there alive. If you really want to go for long range with this gun go ahaed and slap a Bipod on there. The recoil pattern of the SCAR-H makes the foregrip useless on it and will just decrease the weapons accuracy which leaves you with barely any advantage and a huge disadvantage. To complete my SCAR-H guide i would use a 3.4x scope on it ;)

And if you really made it this far i still have two key-binding tricks for you:

Since the latest patch you can bind a dedicated key to deploying the bipod and unbind it from the right mouse button. It was in the patchnotes but it seems like there were not a lot of people who actually cared. This way the gun will be like a normal gun without bipod as long as you don´t press the "bipod deploy" button. So you won´t deploy the bipod accidentaly anymore but if you think you could use it you still have the option to use it.

If you use toggle instead of hold for aiming down sight, go ahaed and bind toggle laser/flash light to your right mouse button aswell...This way if you go for longer range shots the laser/flashlight will be turned off and therefore will not give away your position. However if you hipfire in close quarters the laser/flashlight will be turned on and you´ll get the full advantage

BTW...i try to keep it balanced but my favourite aussault gun is the AK74M with PKA 3.4x/bipod/flash suppresor and a silenced pistol as backup...put it on semi-auto and countersniper sniper ;)
