660 ti will do average 50 fps with a dip to 35 fps once in awhile on ultra at 1080p

I don't think you'll be hitting 60 on ultra constantly unless you're willing to spend over $400. But even my 6850 does high around the 50-60 mark.

6870 can do Ultra at 30+ fps, High at 50-60 fps.

Ultra isn't much different from High unless your monitor is a greater resolution than 1080p.

This is my first experience with the Radeon 6670. B4 that I had a gtx 460m (m15x). I gotta say...it was stronger that the 6670. It's just tougher to upgrade a laptop...so I went with a desktop instead...

660 TI should be able to do 60fps @Ultra if you turn off AA. Maybe need to either lower shadows as well or overclock the card.

Don't do what I did though. I had to take my 6850 out of our old computer, because when I put it in the computer wouldn't boot (long story short, the computer had a big problem, got a new computer, etc.), but see I didn't realize that there was a little pull tab next to the PCI Express slot, so I spent about 5 minutes trying to get the thing out. I've never concentrated more on anything in my life. I swear I was doing brain surgery. I finally discovered the tab, and what do you know it came out in like 3 seconds. Luckily all the pulling I did didn't damage it, and it works fine in our new computer.

Is it easy t overclock the gtx 670? I read that "precision x" is the best tool....(still waiting 4 card delivery)

660Ti is a better card than the 7870, as a matter of fact it runs toe to toe with the 7950 even though it has only 192bit bus width.

BUT! If you want to save some $$ out of that $300 get a 7870 for $50 less even though it does gives up some fps to the 660Ti.

gtx 660 ti better card. wont do all ultra 60 fps but without msaa u will be over 60fps 99 percent of the time. unless like ur tank explodes etc where it doesnt even matter... if u can afford an extra 100 dollars get the gtx 670 preferably the ftw edition by evga

My goal is to buy a Gigabyte GTX 660TI and run a mixture of ultra and high but with AA off and using the Driver side FXAA.. It looks like the sweet spot on the Nvidia side of things

Hello and sorry to piggyback off your thread URmama, I going to buy a gaming rig pretty soon and I'm thinking of getting a GTX 670 or should i shell out the extra cash for a GTX 690 or maybe something in the Radeon family. Any suggestions would be great thank you.

just curious but why did you jump straight to the 690 and leave out the 680? the 680 is a excellent high end card....atm you would probably only go a 690 if you was planning to sli 2 680s which in that case it would make more sense to shell out for a 690 not only to save room in your case but to reduce heat in general given a 690 is 2x 680 GPUs in one graphics card

the 680 alone can run bf3 on a high resolution with ultra settings without even flinching so if your looking to shell out for a high end graphics card then your probably going to want a 680 because your going to be shelling out allot more for a 690 and have to wait a long time before anything will really put it to work and by then even more powerful graphics cards would have been released and you will probably be kicking yourself for getting it lol

Neither will do at 1080p but the 660ti will be closer. Steady 60+ on Ultra will cost $500+

The 7870 can get 60 fps on Ultra [anandtech.com] and it's only $240 [newegg.com]

All you guys saying a GTX 660Ti can't run ultra @ 1920x1080 don't know know what your talking about... http://benchmarkreviews.com/images/reviews/video_cards/N660Ti-PE/BF3.png [benchmarkreviews.com] It's keeping up with the 670 & 680 just fine.
