Any way to increase FPS?

I run an i7-2670QM at 2.2 Ghz, 6770M HD Radeon 1 GB.

It's gotten kinda bad, I get 30-35 FPS on Low, on the low preset, motion blur all the way down.

1920x1080 res, 70 for the viewing thing.

Suggestions?

No trolling, please

nope.

at that point i'd plan on buying new hardware or just stop playing.

Or if i was poor i'd play it on a 1024x768 res,

Have you ever tried OCing your CPU? I know temps can be a prob on a laptop, but you might be able to get to 2.6 which would help a good bit.

yes, drop to 1680 ;) adjust your mouse sens once you change it....

if you are losing frames you might have to reformat the HD...

*Edit*

I see you're on a laptop.
Just make sure you're on a desktop that you build yourself. That is how you're supposed to play anyway.

1. ) I found this great program (that has it's own thread on the forums)

http://bf3.realmware.co.uk/settings-editor/ [bf3.realmware.co.uk]

And in the settings editor, under the console tab, if you uncheck 'DX deferred CS path' you'll get a great FPS boost. I noticed no visual differences either. I got a 10fps boost on all high settings, this was the biggest fps boost.

BUT I WASN'T SATISFIED WITH JUST THAT! It gave me a good fps boost, but I still couldn't play 64 player servers that well.

2 .) putting these two console commands into the 'user.cfg' (or just entering them in the console may work) will also significantly g ive you a steady fps boost.

renderdevice.forcerenderaheadlimit 1
&
worldrender.spotlightshadowmapenable 0

3.) I run gamebooster (As many of you probably do) and even check further things that are unnecessary (default settings do not always get them all)

4.) I run windows 7 theme in the "Windows High Contrast/ or classic mode" I pick high contrast cause I don't like the brightness of the classic mode. THIS REALLY helped me at first, and now my computer just runs faster in general, and still looks cool doing so :)

5.) The settings editor for #1 is really helpful. It will allow you to edit settings before you go in game, and also has some useful tabs not put into game.
You could try disabling dx11 effects (though I have read that will have a negative impact, I cannot attest to this as I have not tested it out)

changing the shadowmap resolution is also helpful. I recommend the higher resolution, the lower (I run at 1920x1080, and I put shadowmap resolution at 512)

Tripple buffering I think is enabled by default, but you could also enable that to help.

For me I was having to lower settings constantly on both 32 and 64 player servers, now I can play at high settings. Only down side is very mild blocky shadows.

Not much of a difference.

resolution amazingly has no impact on frames even on my desktio.Lowering resolution a notch only game me 2 fps whereas in games like crysis it gave me 10 fps increase. The FB engine is really well optimised,I must say

Have you ever tried OCing your CPU? I know temps can be a prob on a laptop, but you might be able to get to 2.6 which would help a good bit.

^^ this

Your laptop can't do it. CPU wise yes, gpu wise NO

If my laptop internals work, is it possible to hook up an external GPU?

yes, but those are ver expensive and not worth it.

Nope, unless you have a PSU to charge up the GPU and you need an access port for you to connect your GPU to the laptop's mobo.

Lower down your resolution, btw.
We should remove all jets from the game and replace them with the F35.

These are nice suggestions, but my laptop's screen is natively 1366x768 - maybe games were designed to run at lower res for higher FPS?

I have an external 23" monitor I've connected it to and 1920x1080 looks natural to me.
I applied the setting someone suggested above with the BF3 settings editor, will try right now.

Im runniing on a HP i7-2630QM 2.0GHz 6770m 1gb - getting 40 at lowest and up to 60-65 on low settings 1 res lower then 1080. that Danoc 1.3 performance injector helped get 10-15 more fps after the 40 lowest and 60-65 highest. So roughly 55-65 average after injector.
