I have been able to start and play BF3 since the game came out without it crashing, up until yesterday. I kept getting disconnected over and over and it would give an error: "You were disconnected from EA Online (1) ". I made no changes to my computer other than a possible origin update, it just started randomly happening.

I figured it was a PB issues so I manually updated PB and an update was found, however I would still get disconnected after a few minutes.

Today I tried to start it again and it started up normally at first then just sat at a black screen with the blue square flashing in the corner for several minutes so I used task manager to close it. I then decided to update my catalyst drivers form 12.8 to 12.10 the recommended way (uninstall old driver, restart, install new ones). BF3 will not even start now, it says joining, but nothing happens. BF3 dose appear as a process in task manager for about 5 seconds then disappears. I rolled back to 12.8 because I know the game worked with that version at some point. Still had the same issue.

I have tried all the suggestions here:
http://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf3/forum/threadview/2832654347882326295/ [battlelog.battlefield.com]

I made sure Origin and BF3 were exceptions on my firewall. I also bypassed the firewall on my router if that was an issue, to no avail.

I uninstalled BF3 and Origin and reinstalled them.

I have disabled the browser add on with Firefox and IE except the ESN add ons....

I have tried just about everything on the first 3 pages of a Google search.

So far nothing has worked. Please help.

I can't play either. I bought this game 4 days ago and still nothing. I'm beginning to think that EA stole my money and it is really pissing me off.

I was able to play this morning (about 12 hours ago) and now I can't. It goes to join server then the game loads up for about a second then closes. No error message. Done the simple things like reboot origin/pc, check for updates etc.

I'm still having this problem. I really want to play the game. It appears that everytime the game goes to start up it brings up the "do you want to buy premium" window... I ALREADY HAVE PREMIUM. I think that the window is stopping Battlefield 3 from starting up. Also I have windows 7 64 bit. Maybe it's because Origin is a 32 bit application or something. I do not know but I need answers... Coming from a game company who is suppose to be "Professional". See if I buy your game anymore EA or Origin. It appears problems have been occurring for months. EA I just want to PLAY! Or give me my money back!

I agree, a game should last forever, not with an expiration date...

I have had bf3 since the day it was released and never got it to work. I figured someone would post fixes and things so i waited forever and got a good connection to play to try it again. Anyone with a ASUS gaming laptop/notebook will have these issues from what i have found. I did all the other fixes I could find by searchiing the internet. Updated card the 1st run with no luck so i passed up on that being the issue. I have a HD ATI mobile 5870 card and I went and got the new catalyst control center dl and stuff from the ATI site today. I found a Beta driver that was released last week, and bang, it worked!! I am a happy old schooler as I started fps games back in 1998 and never looked back!! It was so addicting I went to Devry uni for web game development, hehe. I was very mad at EA support for making me waste my time with non sense tech bs.. I will post specs of my laptop and if you have what i have,or better, (as this laptop is running on a lil over 2 yrs old now) go and do the same, you will see the driver was released last week. Im off to kill some ppl and if you get your laptop working let me know,we can go kill some nuBz together sometime.

Log out of battlelog, select "forgot password", get a new one (can be the same one) login again and try joining a server. That always works for me when I get stuck at joining a server.

I have the same issue, I can launch the campaign and the Co-op with no problems. But when I try to join a multiplayer server, all I get is a 5 second black screen and a message saying: "Disconnected, something went wrong." It's pissing me off, what is that SOMETHING?! I tried reinstalling the game, I have every map pack and the latest patch. I don't know what's wrong with it.
You either die as a hero or live long enough to see you've become the villain.
