Battlefield 4 leaked rumors

So apparently some BF4 information was leaked from EA China and translated to English, I find this very interesting and it seems to make a lot of sense. Note that all this could be fake

The Battlefield 4 release date will be on October 23rd 2013 On a wednesday which makes sense because most game titles in the U.S are released on a wednesday. In Europe it's on a friday. Maybe not for Battlefield 4 though.

- Is for the Xbox 360, PS3, PC and is going to be one of the first games on the next gen console. (The PS4 and Xbox 720 will be released in December 2013 or early 2014 - Which means that the game will be released earlier for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 - October 23rd - )

- Commander system is back! Nothing much to say.

- PC Will support more than 100 players, next gen console will support 64 and 60 FPS. Battlefield 3 Alpha for PC supported more than 100 players, so this is not a big surprise. Maybe we will get even bigger maps just for +100 players? (PC only)

- Frostbite 2.0 Engine. I think we all knew this, it's going to be basically the same graphics as BF3, but upgraded.

- Female soldiers. In Battlefield 4 you can choose to be a female or a male soldier, t-bagging is going to be sweet. Female is avaible for every class, you just switch gender as easy as you switch camo.

- BF4 will use 80% of power from Frostbite 2.0. BF3 only used 30-40% (Upgraded graphics)

- Modern story background. We're not moving past, or to the future. It's going to stay in 2013-2015

- Matching the quality of BF3 already

- BF4 Already have a demo video internally within EA,

- BF4 will have 3 factions: Russia, USA and China (Not sweden? :( )

- Supports video playback and sharing. Basically battle recorder, montages will be sweet

- Will still use Battlelog.battlefield.com as launch site. I guess we're stuck on here for a while

- PC VOIP. Thank god, more intense PC experience.

- Auto login, need internet all time, support cloud saves (I really don't know what this means but I guess it's good)

- Easier to pickup the game, to take care of players from CoD! (I really hope that one isn't too true. Hopefully it just means that noobs won't get sh*t on by tryhards and all.. Just let Battlefield be Battlefield. )

Again this is just rumors, but It would be great if this was true :)

Seems legit. I can't wait for the next gen consoles to come out! I rather have a console than a computer for multiple reasons. It's more casual without all the updating and none of my friends play on PC.

Did the alpha version of BF3 use 80% of frostbite 2? The alpha definitely looked better than the beta and final version.

Interesting to see it being a PS4/XBox 720 release. There could be some issues I would imagine with availability with both consoles around their launch times. So this could hurt the amount of players playing on those consoles. I imagine the limitations on players for the PS3 and XBox will stay at 24.

Negative, what DICE for some reason did is that they added blue tint to make the game... Well more blue. As a Swede myself I can confirm that Sweden is not blue.

The real question is how much will a PS4 or XBox 720 cost as well as whether there will be shortages. Here are pretty much my options as I see them.

1. Buy the next gen console and buy BF4.

2. Buy BF4 for PS3.

3. Wait until all the bugs are worked out of the launch consoles and then buy one and BF4.


I have already gotten screwed over by the PS3 and XBox 360 launch consoles and their issues. This might be indeed be a time where I wait.....

Hopefully we won't be seeing more blue in BF4, and that night maps will look like a night environment unlike in Death Valley

I really doubt developers would be expecting people to drop 9k USD on a console.

Yeah I mean 500-700 my mistake. Wasn't PS3 400 when released?

In Canada the PS3 was $899.99 so closer to 700 EUR. Though that was at its initial release. It didn't take it long for it's price to drop so people could actually buy it. I got mine for $299, though they cut out some functionality to get the price more competitive.

bf4 will probably drop 2014 or 2015 a year after nextgen is out ...

Actually next-gen console developer kits are already released... Likely not in the same form they will be upon actual release, but they are out there so people can start developing games, etc. for them.
