Today we had scheduled an update which we had anticipated to take roughly an hour to complete. Although it took approximately 30 minutes more, everything looked like it had went smooth.

Part of the update was the implementation of a new authentication system and unfortunately, an error with the authentication system was discovered quickly afterwards. The amount of people logging into Battlelog triggered the authentication system to lock down, effectively denying anyone from logging in.

The Battlelog team quickly started investigating and after roughly 3 more hours, a fix was deployed.

We are all very sorry for the inconvenience, especially with the update taking place on a Saturday. We understand that many people play on Saturdays, and we had hoped to deploy this update earlier in the week. It was something we had to release as soon as possible though.

So what exactly was the update about?

It consisted mostly of behind-the-scene changes, such as the deployment and integration of a new authentication system, a new user presence system with Origin integration, the ability to message friends who are offline in the chat, and various other things.

Again, we are all incredibly sorry for the long downtime. Please report any other issues you find now and we'll try to get it fixed as soon as possible.

Thanks for the update. You can have even more time if needed, but that offline messaging is awesome!

Nice, but I found an issue with Group chats.

When you're in a group chat the symbol doesn't show up next to you or your friends names.

I report my issue: nothing works at all (Opera browser).
Have to use Internet Explorer.
I suppose, I have to download update for opera browser, but I do not have a link. All buttons in Opera are stuck.

My friend list seems to be visually broken. Big icons, and names above those, which makes the list huge mess. Anyone else having the same problem?

Oh my, it's more broken than I thought in Opera. Page elements are completely messed up, editing posts is impossible (can't even see what I type). Jesus.

Yup.

Also, could we put the friendslist on show once more? There is just this massive gap between a chat box and where the list should be and it looks ugly. From a personal standpoint, everything seems to far away from my screen for my liking. Pressing zoom in once makes it look like it did previously, but things look rather blurry.

Test 1
When MPs do anything that the rest of us think is a bit dodgy, their reply is always the same, "it is within the law". When anybody else does something which "is within the law" but a bit dodgy, MPs reply by saying that "it is immoral". Maybe it is time to scrap the law and rely on good morals. -----Campaigning for a TuG's nerf since 2011.-----
