6950 Performance BAD!

Hey just curious, anyone else using this single card? Yesterday I was getting a solid 50-60fps on my auto settings , I came back home to play now and all I get now is a b.s 30-40fps IDK what happened but the game just took a big performance hit out of no where.

did you change to high settings im using the same card on high runs great, not so much on ultra

I went to high for a second and it seems i still get similar frames i'm trying to his 60 only way to do that so far is on LOW but last night i was able to hit 60 on Auto which was high/ultra np.. Are you getting 60FPS?

someone changed your videocard while you have been away ?

I've been running the game flawlessly on default which high/ultra. Maybe it's your drivers?

Hahaha you would think so but definitely not bro, i can't get consistent frames in this game all of a sudden at all on Beta i was hitting 60 easy on Metro, Now i can't even get past 40 on the same "high settings" and yes my AA is off before anyone asks.

i have the same card and using the 11.10 preview v2 drivers. settings all high and textures ultra. No issues here.
I would suggest you completly remove your drivers and try the preview2 drivers.

Hmm.. if you say so i guess it can't hurt V2 isn't that a downgrade though? isn't it up to V3 Drivers and idk the thing that just gets me is that once again this is out of no where yesterday it ran just fine, sure i added a new soundcard to my computer today but i'm sure thats not the problem. and everyone that says they're running with no issuses i just want to confirm that you're getting a constant 60FPS because technically i'm running fine with no issues being over 30 but thats not my goal 60FPS is my goal

Got the same card. I believe it is running 30-40 like yours, but that's at stock settings, no OC. It seems to be running smooth as hell for me, so I'm fine with 30-40. I'm using the V3 Drivers, witch fixed all the issues I had with graphics.

30 fps is just to low and i read about other people having issues with the v3. Have you checked your power management settings ?

Sorry don't know what the specific issue is.

Try restarting the machine, or rolling back the driver if it happened recently. If you messed around with the Battlefield folder at all, try and remember what you did. These are all small little things that can sometimes make a big difference. Did you by any chance downclock your card when you weren't using it? Sometimes I do that, and forget...

AMD did say they were releasing 11.10 on Friday

I have the 6950 2gb card unlocked shaders and I have to say performance wise I expected more from it.

Well i just checked my power managment options it was on switched it to high performance will try it with that, If worst come to worst i'll do a roll back to V2 drivers which i really much rather avoid

Nope haven't changed anything but PB update which was yesterday and once again the game ran just fine back then, As silly as it maybe starting to think it has something to do with this soundcard because i wasn't doing this yesterday and thats the only change I made to the computer.

good to hear they're uploading new drivers friday though idk what to do you have some people going V2 and other saying go V3

According to this Benchmarks 30 fps on max settings for the 6950 is normal.

Mixing up the settings with High and Ultra should at least get you to 50 fps depending on your
screen resolution. but i hope we get some more improvements with the 11.10

thanks for the suggestion but i'm not running ultra running high and man i just dont get it i'll go from 67 fps to 35 in a blink of an eye wth?!?!

I see nothing wrong with running 30 fps, especially if you have a 60hz screen. It should be fine. Just turn your FRAPS off and pretend its 60.

There is nothing wrong with it, however if you were previously running a higher number and the community confirms that your card is definitely under performing that is a problem.
