Does anyone have a phone# or a way to contact DICE directly? I'd like to ask them about this.
Yeah that wall texture, no way that is the textures i got. I would have said WOW... The textures i got just look pretty standard to me.
I'm confused I have the HD pack installed and both disk also and it would seem the HD pack is working with the disk installed?
For Ps3, it auto installs when you are installing the game data. Oh and if you don't think graphics look amazing, It could be your t.v .... I know this because I tested this out on old 42 in. projection t.v compared it to my 42 in. flat screen t.v, it could be for 360 too but i cant confirm that since I don't own a 360 anymore.
I can also say that running the HD pack with Disks NOT INSTALLED looks way better.
judging by those pictures , this game doesnt even look half as good on my screen ! and its not the tv because i have a 40" sony e-s....
btw iam running it on ps3.
Wow people it is simple. The game with the HD textures looks the same as the PC version but with low settings and without anti-aliasing in 720p. I have the PS3 version and PC version and i have my PC and my PS3 connected both with HDMI to my Sharp Aquos 47" Full HDTV. I tested that yesterday.Textures are always on HD on every version. The things that changes are the anti-aliasing, blur effects, particles (dust, smoke, etc), ambient occlusion (HBAO, etc...non on consoles) and just to make the game runs good with the hardware that we have on consoles (old by this days) they take off that. But the game is the same.
BTW: And i noticed that Dice forgot to put in the sky of Caspian Border, the 1080p 'texture size'. If you put the game on PC all with ultra settings and in 1080p if you look at the sky you will see around the clouds little squares. Then i put 720p and the clouds looks better. So the sky is rendered in 720p but not in 1080p as it should be. Barely noticeable. and same happens with the black floor at the base in Caspian Border. Low resolution textures. (for 720p, consoles)
Not a big deal.
And again the effects and details are the things that change when you have one game on consoles and PC too. But it is the same game, and the most important is the game-play. BF3 is amazing with or without amazing graphics.
Play The Fuc*ing Objective or GTFO.

can anyone confirm if this is true, i don't want to go through uninstalling both discs for no reason, would rather have someone who hasn't installed it yet confirm
I can confirm there is some truth to this, noticed it mostly with wall textures. I also noticed with the game installed and either 1.playing for more than one game or 2. switching maps that sometimes the graphics weren't as good as they were previously. I wonder what the deal is with that?
If u don't install game disk the noise the disk drive makes is unbearable and i still noticed texture pop-in
What a ridiculous problem, I wonder why this happens. This seems like a pretty big oversight to me.
I wonder if this is true. I have the texture pack and multiplayer disc installed on my hard-drive. I will be testing this tonight. Anyone at DICE/EA want to confirm this?? this seems like a big issue if true?
gfx aside this game is crazy good

Can we just clarify this is a XBOX issue, not a PS3 issue (well maybe who knows)
I took pics but damn do they suck. https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-gCacLB6vK-Q/TqoRAKWY4ZI/AAAAAAAAAeg/qsyepIZAoiQ/s1024/IMG_20111027_221832.jpg
These are things i never could see clearly with Disks installed.
Also I dont think it matters but im using a Samsung monitor 1440x900 Native res, DVI-HDMI hook up.
