BF3 physics
BF3 doesn't really run 100% physics though.
It already is laggy as is so i really do not see the reason why better physics are that are not even needed.

Well, it is definitely an AMD Radeon driver issues while in Crossfire... the game runs great on single card. (well aside from frame rate). Going to try Windows 7 12.2 drivers and see if that works. Windows 8 is NOT the problem with BF3, just the driver support.
Goes to show the haters out there. Windows 8 is in fact a decent OS, even if it is in Pre-Beta stages. Just the driver support from third parties is currently lacking. You are also doing yourself a disservice if you hate on Windows 8 before trying it (and I mean REALLY trying it. As in more than a week of using it. I hated Windows 8 for the first 3 days of using it in the Developers Preview but now only have Windows 7 installed on 1 of my machines... as a JIC measure). It really is going to be a better OS than 7 (or XP) and in time you will get used to the new features.. just like I did when they changed from DOS to Windows, then Windows 3.11 to Windows 95. This world is built on change kids, if you don't embrace it you will get left behind... Honestly, something I thought the tech generation would realise all on their own.

I'm running Battlefield on my Windows 8 Consumer Preview, and honestly, it runs smoother than with Windows 7, you can believe me or not, but my FX 1850 gives me 5 - 10 fps more in all maps.

Having the same problem here... 5 minutes in game (not even) and the game crashes every single time. However, ME3, SC2 and MW3 (don't ask) all work fine with 296.17 NVidia Drivers..
System Specs:
i5 760 @ 4.1
GTx 560 Ti twin frozr III
8GB Kingston 1333mhz
Any ideas?

I think all you negative posters should be using this thread as a Preview Beta Test for running BF3 on Windows 8
Many of us will be either getting this OS to use as Primary or dual boot purposes.
Regardless of weather you hate the new look, it is the next generation of Windows.
This should be used as a opportunity to figure out how to get BF3 running on the new OS prior to its Final release.
Those of you who have the game running on this platform should post your specs and what changes you made to get things running,
so that others can try & duplicate or at the very least figure out what works and what does not.
Those of you having issues should also post what you did so you can eventually get things right.
How often do we get to fix things before a new OS completely screws us over.

The game is crashing after a few seconds for me on the new Consumer Preview. Single player crashes, but not immediately.
Running an EVGA X58, i7 processor, and SLI 470s.
I don't want to go back to Windows 7 tbh. Want to get a lot of preview time in with 8 and give it a fair review, and that means having my go-to games on tap.
I've tested Empire Total War and Skyrim, and both run fine.
edit: uninstalled the game, bought premium, reinstalled it, and its been working without crash so far
using nvidia 301.42 drivers - win7/vista x64
going to try it with the older 296.17 Win8 driver they released and see how performance is

i love the "screw that tahblet lookin OH ES." comments. you can tell the people who have tried it and who havent. i am fully aware that this is a "consumer preview". i have it installed on an ocz agility 3 and it is amazing. i understand that somethings might have issues. im not a retard. try it when it comes out, you will be amazed how much more efficient it is.

The only work around I can think of is
Install virtual box on win 8 and then install win 7 on the vm.
Thats how to get win 8 working
I blocked this with adblock plus
Why?..I dont give a flying f%$#k what your PC specs are

I played on W8 for like 2 weeks without any problems. I actually got a 3~5FPS boost on BF3 and even 10FPS on some other games. I got back to W7 because of BFBC2 PunkBuster issues and some programs that wasn't working properly.
Give me a break with this "I'm not moving to a OS that was made for Tablets". An OS that was made thinking of Tablets will be much more faster/better programmed due to the tablet hadware limitation.

once your game starts before you spawn in change the video settings to anything then play for a bit then change back to what you had it set to before
its a memory leak your ram is filling up thats whats freezing the game i have W8 pro x64 and i do this and game works fine
