Do a quick ADS and then shoot at medium - long range, hipfire on close - medium range, aim lower when you're suppressed, aim high when you're not - #25 in the world for magnum kills on Ps3. :)

Use the scoped magnum so you can experience what it feels like to look through an anus.

I prefer the no 4x scope one over the one with, mainly because the iron sights are easy to use and it's a wonderfully powerful gun at close range. Oh, and aim for chest-neck-head when shooting.
I condone using lock-on weapons. They do take skill to use.

Thanks for the tips everyone, had the first good day with it yesterday. Pretty solid clean-up gun as you all said.

I am curious though, for everyone who hip-fires with it...do you just put the enemy dead center in the screen and blaze away? I try to hip-fire with it while strafing but I never seem to hit anyone with it, unsure why.

Also, is there really ANY bullet drop on this bad boy? I head-shot a guy who was Bipoded up yesterday on Kharg at about 100m and was shooting high trying to compensate for drop.
I am become death, destroyer of worlds.

Best advice and keeping it simple, aim first, shoot later. Most people shoot first and aim later. Do this no matter what is going on i.e. being rushed by two or three guys or having an LMG guy shoot you like crazy from 5 feet away. Also, keep calm, dont get excited. This will always cause to you shoot first and aim later. Aim for the upper chest or head if available.

This has helped me to take down clusters of 5-6 guys while they are rushing me at the same time.
I try to do, what I can do, when I can do it.

For hipfire, it's best if you pause a split second to not move and fire, then take a split pause, and fire again.

Don't just go "BLAM BLAM BLAM BLAM"

Should be... BANG, tick, tick, BANG

In other words let the gun settle for a split second from the recoil.

Very true. I always aim, shoot and then wait and aim shoot. If I get excited and go blam, blam, blam, blam chances are I will miss all shots. Also chances the other person is doing the same to you and it just happens they either get lucky or have more amo. No matter what weapon you use, aim first, shoot later and focus.
I try to do, what I can do, when I can do it.

Yea, if you check out my soldier I mostly play Recon, so I know just need to use it as more or less a second Bolt-Action and take intelligent shots with it, I'm too used to the G18 still, spraying super close range on the move.

Thanks for the pointers guys, I'll try playing it as I would my main Rifle!

Even from far range. I have taken out snipers with a Magnum (Not scoped).
