i had the same error when tried to change ingame video settings, here is what worked for me
go to Origin Games\Battlefield 4 Beta\__Installer\directx\redist and run DXSETUP
hope it helps
EDIT: while beta was installing i also had some directx error,so i closed origin, deleted
all files except DSETUP.dll dsetup32.dll and DXSETUP and it installed with no problems.
that is probably the reason i later had that error that you guys have so i just reinstalled directx
and now its working,i can change everything without getting kicked

dont minimize the game, if you do, the directX error appers
if you wanna change the graphics, make sure fullscreen is applied!

My game also hanged up after i've changed the graphic settings. If you want to reset the settings go to X:\User\"Username"\My Documents\Battlefield 4\Settings\ and delete everything in there.

After first match (I did some configuration in display settings) the game crashed and since then I'm getting this error. Any solution to reset graphic settings?

I was able to play the game for a few minutes. But then I got the same error. I'm gonna reinstall an older Driver (no beta) and see what happens.
