To the people who has this processor, how does it perform? Im getting one soon so i kinda wanna know the how good they are for BF4. Dont bother telling me Intel is better for (Insert Reason here) its way out of my prce range and the 8350 has a really good general price for performance thing. Thanks in advance.
I tried to catch them all, then I got bored and bought them all. PSU: XFX 750W CPU: AMD FX 8350 4.0hz/4.2hz Graphics Card: AMD MSI R9 280x 3GB: RAM : 16GB Corsair 1600mhz: Hardrive 1TB&3TB: SSD: Samsung 840 Evo 250gb Case: Corsair 750D

it will run BF4 ultra and 200% resolution scale if you have the gpu for it very very well. i had one and only went to intel for other reasons and tbh i cant feel much driffrent then the FX-8350 game wise. so you wont be sad getting a FX-8350 i would just recommend getting some water cooling on it to keep temps nicely down =)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6OkRFKE4QUs [youtube.com] - FX8350 + GTX760 SC

My rig from my signature and the settings are in the begining of the video. I now use a custom config file and managed to squeeze even few more FPS, lately playing on almost all Ultra settings with no AA / HBAO/ Mid effects with about 90-140 fps on 64 player TDM.

And don`t forget to do CoreUnpark! YEY Microsoft!

I was originally gonna get one of those but the motherboard price would have to increase dramaticly

I wasn't going to but new egg had the best combo prices. Also the water coolant block is big as heck. I have a full size tower and i had to use a sliding divider to get the block in. I use the Thermaltake Chaser A71 Full Tower. If i went with a mid size tower even a big one would have been a pain to get the side pannel on with a 240mm fan on the side.

Great performance for the price. My 8350 eats up anything I throw at it. Just be sure to get a good cooling solution. I use the Corsair H105 to keep my CPU chilled.

I'm thinking OP wants FPS numbers with Rez and GPU(s) as well as number of players online + current video settings.

I had an 8150 OC's at 4.6 ghz (24 hr stable on Prime95) with two gtx 690's OC pushing a single 2560x1600 monitor. Got about avg 60 FPS in game, with lots of dips into the single digits.

NOTE: this was early - and I mean before the second patch for BF4 came out, so after many patches I would have gotten better numbers. also on win 7.

I swapped my AMD system for a -5 3570 K OC to 4.9 with identical setup and AS OF RIGHT NOW AFTER MANY MANY patches AND latest NVidia beta drivers I get about about an avg 100 - 100 FPS with everything on ultra @ 1600p and W8

When I first got it I avg about 85FPS on ultra everything and Win7.

I did eventually have 3 1600p IPS monitors but couldn't barely play the game on max everything. the 2gb Vram was too much of a bottleneck. N canse anyone wonders, the gtx690 was the best card from NVidia and the 7990 from AMD's partners were too long for my case.

Performs decent at stock, but OC that to 4.6, keep your 280x and use Mantle = Profit. Way above 60fps at all times on my setup, which is 8350 (4.6) + 280x. You'll need a cooler for that though. Also, my 8350 uses all 8 "cores" so you'll probably be gaining 2 cores over your 6300, which is more good news. Not to mention you don't have to switch motherboards, unlike if you were going to an i5.

Oh yeah, get another 4gb stick or ditch the 4gb you have in there now. It'll run better. Use 2 sticks or 4 sticks, using 3 will have a negative effect on performance.

Pretty good CPU,keep in mind you need a good motherboard if you want to overclock, because of the 125W TDP.

Would be nice if the die was smaller like 22nm instead of 32nm. =)

High temps, high power draw, needs an expensive mobo, poor single threaded performance, and mediocre multi-threaded performance. I guess if you only ever play BF4, it's fine if you really wanted to just save a few measly dollars.

OP, your "over my budget" spiel is a load of horse shit. The 8350 is $200. So is a current-gen Haswell i5. On top of that, you can go with a cheaper mobo for Intel. The 8350 couldn't even manage to out-perform a last gen i5, much less a Haswell chip.

You people who recommend AMD over Intel are bad and you should feel bad.
Ohhh, you think the airburst is your ally? You merely adopted the airburst. I was born with it, molded by it. I didn't see primary weapons until I was already a man, by then they were nothing to me but blinding! The nade spam betrays you. Because it belongs to me!

He speaks the truth, unfortunately at the time I didn't want to wait the 11months and 2 1/2 so weeks for the 8350 to be released. Also, the FX chips are more than powerful enough for any games on the market - its the 990 chipset that holds them back from their real potential.

AMD cpu´s are prefect cpu´s for people on a budget.
Not everybody needs high end performance, some people just want bang for their buck for a pc to play some game´s and do some browsing.
As you can read above OP is on a budget, and just want to do some general gaming,so please go away fanboy.
