Recently, the Spring Update for Battlefield 4 was released, bringing with it 5 new weapons, the new Gun Master game mode, Netcode improvements, and much more. We’ve seen a lot of excitement around this update – and also some feedback and questions.

Below, we’ve gathered some of the most common Spring Update questions from the community.


» How come roof access/ladders were removed from some infantry game Modes?
We are currently monitoring how the Maps and Modes play at the moment, and how these changes affect gameplay and flow of these infantry-focused Modes. So, keep your feedback coming.


» How come some details were missing from the Spring Patch Notes?
The SRAW changes were made very early in the process, and therefore was missed. We apologize for the oversight, but will be sure to include all highlights/notable changes in future patch notes.


» What’s up with the UCAV and Mortar deploy time?
Changes were made with the best intentions. We want to revisit this to optimize its functionality on the Battlefield.


» How come the visuals on the Tracer Rounds are very prominent?
The intentions of Tracer Round visuals were to make them noticeable, but we will be toning them down due to your feedback.


» How come kit specific perks/loadouts reset?
We are aware of this issue and looking into a solution. In the meantime, use the in-game Loadout menus which should work perfectly (per Faction).


» How come we are still seeing “netcode” issues?
We are seeing server performance issues on some Platforms in some Regions and are working on a solution, with a server patch release in the future. If you experience this issue, please try to find another server.


» Why has my favorite weapon been changed so much?
We are fairly happy with the weapon balance at this point, but we are always open to feedback. We suggest trying all of the weapons and providing your feedback on the forums.


» Why has Zeroing distance changed?
Zeroing has changed slightly due to a resolved headglitch issue and sniper rifle bullet speed changes. The 100M reflect the actual zeroing distance. Previously it did not.


» How come the Mare’s Leg seems very weak? I’m not inclined to use it.
We wanted to make sure it’s not OP when you use it at a distance. We are continuing to balance this weapon.


» Why has air weapons been changed?
We felt the weapons needed to be changed to provide a better balance against other vehicle types and infantry. We may have changed a bit too much on Conquest, and are continuing to look at your feedback to optimize them further.

This was a horrible patch should of just fixed the head glitching like you guys did and leave everything else alone. I do understand putting a timer on ucav but 60 secs is ridiculous I understand 15 secs would be more than fair for that n revert it back to 30 sec reload also should be able to use as soon as you spawn during the match again. Gun balance is plain dumb assaults and shot guns are op compared to carbines. Removing ladders was just stupid you took away dynamics of the game which separated itself from cod. Mortars should not have a deploy time if anything no more than 10 secs. I feel recoil on the guns now are lil to excessive. Fix pld to where it was actually usable for recon because you guys made flirs op now. Also idk if this happens to anybody else but with the m4 while shooting it it sometimes stops firing during fire fights while there is still ammo in the clip also can we please make the m4 have a automatic mode as well.

Yeah, your not going to be going backwards and forth between each other in this thread - censored most of it.

Guppie, there are ways to getting feedback across and wholly slanting it negatively is not appropriate.


Please let us remain ontopic and provide feedback regarding this questions answered update, thanks.

I have the same problem with the M4, middle off a nice fire fight it pauses. Like what

Personally i dislike the UCAV and Mortar timers (Too long) and you cannot see anything on the Thermal vision and the PLD's.

I didn't start it bro talk to the other guy. I was keeping it civil and yea tht m4 locks up or something during a good firefight

Flashbangs need some work. Me personaly, I don't want to get flash- banged by my own team. Also, one should be able to turn away from the grenade, and have it have much less of an impact. All in all, great patch.

Well, i can whine pretty hard about stuff i don't like.

And i was and am pretty grouchy about the spread decrease nerf on assault rifles.

But, most of the changes are a good thing i guess. Maybe even the spread decrease.
Altough i hate it because it affects my gameplay negatively , others may see it as a blessing.

So, for me personally, as a pretty well known "whiner" on these forums, i can honestly say i agree with most of the stuff that was changed or added.

HEY dice can you do an update for more maps to the base game also i have ideas for new turrets and vehicles can you add this as an anti tank use https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=smsBQr_SbB4 [youtube.com] I would appreciate that and theirs to many heli tryhards on maps that have scout helis so i think add aa turets (basily quad stingers on silk road and Shanghai and parcel storm or lancang dam or make the stinger relistic and make it a one hit kill while you carry 4 rockets casue the missele of one looks like this http://www.eliteukforces.info/images/sas/stinger.jpg [eliteukforces.info] )

I used to have that weapon "jamming" issue with the MG4 sometimes. Haven't tried it lately.

Agree flash bang I'd ruined too bright too long and as fir tracers game felt like I was firing nerd gun I don't want to see bullets I want to see damage and his head poping off change timer for mortar as most support aren't alive long enough to use it

I was just wondering about a problem I have had recently and if anyone has had it to. I recently obtained 500 kills with bot the Phantom and the Deagle but have yet to receive my tags for them. Before the patch I didn't have this problem. Has anybody else experienced this or no.

PS if one hit is 2 op you can try 2 but if its one hit make it to you can carry 2 or one cause i don't wanna just be vulnerable whaile i walk down killing paeople then a chopper comes outta no were and instantly kills me

ugh flashbangs >_<

Duration is too long. Flashbangs should be used tactically. Not just thrown and grant you 15 seconds of invisibility from your enemy.
