Battlefield 4 and the Road Ahead

It has without a doubt been a thrilling year for Battlefield 4™. We’ve deployed several expansion packs, launched the Community Test Environment, and done several updates and tweaks to constantly improve the gameplay experience.

What you’ve given back to us is even more noteworthy. We’ve seen so much inspiring creativity and competitiveness in the Battlefield community, and we’ve had tons of fun together with you – in-game on the Battlefield and during the Battlefest seasons.

Final Stand is Not the End

With Battlefield 4 Final Stand released, we hope and believe that you will enjoy it together with the rest of the game for a long time. However, there is one thing we want to assure you: there is more content coming for Battlefield 4.

We will share details on exactly what this new content will be, and when it will arrive, in the near future. We understand that this may lead to even more questions about our plans, but rest assured that we’ll get back to you on the future of Battlefield 4 when the time is right.

Give us Your Input on Classic Maps

We’re aware of – and humbled by – the many requests of re-creating classic Battlefield maps within the Battlefield 4 universe. Now we have a question for you: if a reimagining of a Battlefield classic map was to happen, which map would that be?

We’re really curious about your input on this topic, so head to this poll to share it: https://sv.surveymonkey.com/s/VMRMP3X
Note that you can vote on several maps from several Battlefield games.

More to Come

As mentioned, more details on the road ahead for Battlefield 4 will be shared going forward. For now, we’d like to thank you for staying awesome, and for joining us for another year of Battlefield 4!

ORIGINAL POST BELOW:

Whether you’re fighting towards maximum rank or the C4 unlock for your Support loadout, there are many different journeys to make in Battlefield 4. And as with all journeys, the trip itself is as fulfilling as the goal (especially if the trip involves huge explosions). The journeys of Battlefield 4 are something we’d like you to portray in a newly launched fan art competition.

As part of Battlefest Season 2, we’d like you to send us your most inspiring piece of Battlefield 4 fan art, themed “Your Journey”. This could be a screenshot or a drawing portraying anything from trips on naval units to chasing headshot medals as you’ve progressed through the multiplayer ranks. We’ll award the creators of the 10 best submissions with a copy of Battlefield 4 on the platform of their choice (perfect to gift to a friend if you already own it), together with a Battlefield 4 Premium membership for the same platform, and a copy of Dragon Age Inquisition on the same platform.

To enter the competition, send an image file no bigger than 3MB to battlefieldsocial@ea.com before December 8, 2014 at 5PM GMT. Please put “YOUR JOURNEY COMPETITION” in the subject line and state your gaming platform.

By entering the Your Journey Fan Art Competition, you signify that you have read and accepted the Official Rules.

A DICE jury will choose the 10 best pieces of fan art and the winners will be announced on the Battlefield Blog. We have great expectations of your creativity and journey depictions – make sure to amaze us!

Battlefield 4 Final Stand Available for all Players

Since its release for Battlefield 4 Premium members two weeks ago, Battlefield 4 Final Stand has been praised for its wintry multiplayer maps, the innovative vehicles, and the futuristic weapons and gadgets. Now, Battlefield 4 Final Stand is rolling out for everyone to enjoy.

Battlefield 4 Final Stand takes the fight to 4 snow-ridden environments housing secret military installations where the future of warfare is shaped. Fans of Battlefield 2142 will recognize prototypes of a Titan and T-1 Battlewalkers when fighting on Giants of Karelia, Hammerhead, Hangar 21, and Operation Whiteout. Which of these maps will be your favorite?

Your new best friends on the sub-zero maps include the new Snowmobile and Hovertank, vehicles unlike anything else you’ve seen in Battlefield 4. Find the Rorsch MK-1 battle pickup and deliver a deadly railgun blast, powerful enough to disable an entire vehicle. You can also surprise the enemy team with the XD-1 Accipiter, a remotely operated, LMG-equipped flying drone.

There are also a good number of secrets lurking within Battlefield 4 Final Stand. Maybe you’ve heard rumors about some kind of “Phantom”. Maybe a detour from key areas will reveal surprises in the snow. And while hi-tech weaponry surely will aid you on the Battlefield, maybe a simple icicle could be used in combat…
