Hi everyone!

As you know, we’re always listening to player feedback. You guys helped us shape Battlefield Hardline into what it is today – and that will continue, even with the game out in stores. We’ve been surveying a lot of the feedback by you, the players, and below are the top fixes you can expect when the first patch is released on all platforms. We’ll share that date with you soon.

Keep in mind we’re still focused on ensuring stability first and foremost – our view on the importance of this hasn’t changed. While the launch has proven stable, we can always get better and you’ll see some miscellaneous fixes for the most frequent crashes in this patch. We’re also addressing these top 5 priority issues as identified by the community.

Top 5 Fixes:

• Punkbuster fixes – We’re addressing some of the heavy CPU usage seen by players
• Nvidia DirectX driver fixes – We’re working with our partners at Nvidia to create new drivers to prevent the most common crash issues
• Extended Conquest time – We’ve extended the length of Conquest matches by increasing the number of tickets on both Large and Small
• Fixed TDM spawns – We’ve adjusted spawn points and the spawn system for better TDM spawning
• Multiple weapon balance tweaks – We’ve addressed some common complaints with the weapon balance, there will be more coming soon

In addition to this, we’re adding the Rent-A-Server program functionality for all console platforms with this patch, so players can customize the multiplayer matches to their liking and then invite their friends to play.

I will end this by saying if you’ve read this far, we cheer your attention to detail. If your favorite fix isn’t listed here, don’t despair – just remember that fixes will always run behind community sentiment; we’re still working hard every day to improve the gameplay experience to make Battlefield Hardline even more fun.  Keep sharing your feedback with us!

If you’re into blowing up enemy vehicles and fixing up your own, there is one class in Battlefield™ Hardline that’ll be your first pick. In our Battlefest Class Weeks we take a deeper look at the four classes in the game, and now it’s the Mechanic’s turn.

If you’re a Battlefield veteran, you’ll see that the Mechanic and the Engineer from previous games are brothers from different mothers. Some things set these bros apart though. For instance, in Battlefield™ Hardline you won’t be able to equip an RPG before deploying, so the Grenade Launcher will be your go-to gun when you need enemy rides to go boom.

There are also a few all-new gadgets for the Mechanic to play with. Below, you’ll find tips on the Satellite Phone, Sabotage, and Armored Insert. First though, we want you Mechanics to show what you’re made off…

Mechanic Community Mission

We’ve prepped a class-specific Community Mission for all Mechanic fans out there. We want you to collectively repair 25 million vehicles before April 20. So equip your Repair Tool, get into the vehicular action, and fix up your team’s rides. Nail this, and you’ll get a Gold Battlepack and a Mechanic-themed wallpaper.

The Community Mission is active between April 14, 9AM PT and April 20, 2AM PT. You can track the mission progress on the “Multiplayer/Missions” tab on Battlelog.

How to Play as Mechanic – Tips and Tricks

Fix Your Rides: To be a team hero (and to help out in the Community Mission) you should know how to use the Repair Tool gadget. Just walk up to damaged vehicles (or ride with them) and aim the tool at the ride. And yes, this sizzling toy can also be used offensively. Try it out on everything that moves.

SMG Supremacy: Submachine Guns is the primary weapon type for the Mechanic, and should be used in close quarters. Try to stay close to the action when you’re playing Mechanic to maximize the SMGs properties. Getting burned by too much heat? Jump into your Armored Insert gear before deploying.

Phone It In: Spawning into strategic parts of the map is key to success in Battlefield Hardline multiplayer. Use the Mechanic’s Satellite Phone to provide new spawn locations for your team.

Sabotage: This is a fun one. Set the sneaky, explosive Sabotage gadget to vehicles, objectives and interaction points. Enemy tries to interact with these points, explosion occurs, you grin and earn Cash.

Battlefest Class Weeks – The Operator

As part of the Battlefest celebrations, we are now kicking off the Battlefest Class Weeks. Throughout the following month, we will bring each of the four Battlefield™ Hardline classes into the limelight, handing out gameplay tips and in-game challenges. First up: the Operator class.

If you’re already down with the Assault class from Battlefield 4™, you know the score – this is a well-rounded class specialized in both firefights and healing teammates with their First Aid Packs and Defibrillators. These agents are in many ways the backbone of the Battlefield – truly a cop’s and criminal’s best friend. If you’re new to Battlefield Hardline, choosing Operator as your first class pick is not a bad idea.

Operator Community Mission

We’ve prepped a Community Mission exclusive to all you Operators out there, challenging your quick thinking and team play skills. Your objective: We want you to revive 10 million teammates before April 13, 2AM PDT. If you deliver, we’ll award you with a Gold Battlepack full of in-game goodies and a stunning Operator-themed wallpaper.

The Community Mission is active between April 7, 9AM PT and April 13, 2AM PT. You can track the mission progress on the “Missions” tab on Battlelog.

How to Play as Operator – Tips and Tricks

To make sure you get as much out of your Operator agent as possible, we’ve prepped a few pointers for the class. Make sure to spend Cash to unlock new gear and to experiment with loadouts to find the perfect setup for you. Good luck out on the streets.

Master the First Aid Pack: The First Aid Pack is available to the Operator class right off the bat. Chuck these on the ground and any nearby teammate (including yourself) will get healed, netting you a fat chunk of points. Another way to get patched up is simply to walk up to an Operator carrying a Pack and interact with him. So don’t be shy. That could be lethal.

The Perfect Range: With its versatile assault rifles (make sure to buy these as soon as you have enough cash), The Operator class thrives at medium range. Work on your aim, try not to get too close to your enemies, and rack up those kills. Use Cash to buy upgrades for your gun and experiment with different loadouts.

Revive and Survive: Busted by an explosion or a reckless driver? No sweat. If you’ve equipped the Survivalist gadget, you’ve got an ace up your sleeve. Use this and you’re back on your feet – although with 10% health. Note that this gadget only works for the aforementioned dangers. Bullets are still dangerous.

If you want to save the behind of someone else, equip the Defibrillator. Available only to the Cops’ side, this device is a life-saver for downed teammates. Charge it, make sure the revive area is safe, and bring your buddy back to the fight. Or just use it on an enemy for the ultimate humiliation kill.

Double XP Event: This weekend, you’ll score double XP in Battlefield Hardline. Jump into the game, play the objective, and rank up faster than a speeding bullet.

Gold Battlepack Giveaway: Login to Battlefield Hardline starting March 27 and you’ll receive a Gold Battlepack, containing in-game goodies like camos, weapon attachments and XP boosts.

APRIL 7 – MAY 4
Class Weeks: Operator, Mechanic, Professional, and Enforcer. We’ll celebrate each Battlefield Hardline class, serving great tips for each, and host class-related Community Missions where you can net exclusive rewards.

ShadowPlay PC Contest: NVidia is challenging PC players to capture their most radical Battlefield Hardline moment for a chance to win modded PCs with branded Battlefield graphics. See the ShadowPlay Contest Official Rules (available April 7).
