The Facebook Battlefield gave a link to an "Only in Battlefield 3 Video Challenge Assets" downloadable file that apparently gives you the ability to record games. I can't open it, however.

Any suggestions?

The Battlefield 3 asset pack is just two image files containing the BF3 logo, the BF3 main theme in .mp3 format and the BF3 end frame video in .mov format.
There's nothing in there to record gameplay.

To record your video output use MSI Afterburner, the forum search or any search engine of your choice.

Maybe I read the description incorrectly. I'm on PS3, thanks for the input though.

You can 1) buy a PVR 2) film the screen with a camera. I've also stumbled upon pathetic youtube videos that somehow do it with a laptop, but don't explain how. I'm not spending any money on any of these though; I'll wait for the Battlerecorder to come out.

Hmm.

I think that my most epic feat was when I bailed out a disabled tank and shot with SMAW the jet that destroyed my tank.
Too bad I got no footage on that :D

Rofl anyone using a console has to get a crap quality capture card that works with analog video, or buy a $200 hauppage for HDMI. Other than that the only way to record is if you have a beefy computer because there are tons of free programs that allow you to just that.

Only in BF3 do you get connection timeouts every 15 minutes, rubbish stability of 64 player server, arrogent DICE rep's (MikaelKalms), record low levels of player retention from initial player base........anything else?

I think freddiew from youtube already did this?? go check his youtube page guys the video is super well done its excellent and its actually pretty funny.

and there not looking for "in game" footage they want a "real life" video with actors and a director and all that. they want you to take your bf3 moment and make a video of like. like freddie did its putting c4 on one of those CAT lifts in b2k and hopping out and blowing up a building

This is limiting competitors to those with very strong computers. It seems rather frivolous and unfair with the lack of BattleRecorder.

C'mon DICE! We had it in Battlefield 2.
