I have done everything for several days including re-installing windows, changing graphics card drivers as well as implementing the aforementioned security fix but unfortunately battlefield refuses to launch.
At least I know that it is a problem on EA's side but I would value a solution right now from anyone.

I was running the game fine yesterday. Today, I did an Origin update, and a Java update. Now it will not launch. It just stalls on Joining Server. Any suggestions? I'm running Chrome on Windows 10.

Here are the steps that worked for me :

Step 1:- Removed Windows temporary files which can be found on this help link http://help.ea.com/en/article/clearing-your-temporary-files/ [help.ea.com]
Step 2:- Perform the Ccleaner from this link:- http://help.ea.com/en/article/how-to-use-ccleaner-to-fix-pc-issues/ [help.ea.com]
Step 3:- Go to "My Games" section right click on the game and then select "Repair" and "Check for updates" one by one. Fist repair the game and then update it
Step 4:- Clean boot your system

Clean boot steps can be found on this help link http://help.ea.com/en/article/how-to-clean-boot-your-pc/ [help.ea.com]

This is probably REALLY stupid but I'll post it anyway because ~I~ am an idiot and hopefully some of you are just making the same mistake I did.

So you launch origin, and you launch BF3 and that brings up a webpage right? Well in the middle of that page theres a big "PLAY NOW" and you select which game mode you wanna hit. THAT launches your game.

I've found a few forums around the internet that had ~THIS~ problem so hopefully a few people just did what I did :p

Here's an odd solution. On wifi, the game "launches" but never actually comes up as a window. If I switch to a hardwire connection, then it works.
