What is an AUG rifle? The AUG is a weapon developed in Austria in the early 1970s.
AUG stands for Armee Universal Gewehr = "universal army rifle".

The Steyr AUG was the first ever Bull-pup designed assault rifle. The AUG has the ability to easily switch out the barrel to change the role of the rifle in seconds, to an assault rifle, to a carbine, to a light machine gun, to a sniper rifle. It is one of the most reliable and accurate weapons today even though it was created in 1977! Several country's militarys, special forces, and law enforcements use the AUG as their main battle rifle.
