It’s time to harvest the fruits of your labor. The Community Map Project led to the creation of the Operation Outbreak map, and it’s rolling out worldwide today with Battlefield 4 Community Operations. Grab the free* DLC from the Origin My Games tab or the PlayStation PS Store or Xbox Marketplace.

Operation Outbreak has you fighting in the jungle over a Medical Clinic, Temple, Ghost Town, Logging Camp, and Palm Oil Plantation – all of which were created based on feedback and suggestions from the Battlefield 4 community. You helped build the map, and now it’s time for you to blast it apart.

DICE, you've outdone yourselves yet again. No, really, bravo excellent brilliant fantastic give yourselves a nice pat on the back. Two years later and you're still making finite details to keep players playing. Except one thing: IN WHAT WORLD WOULD YOU REMOVE THE MARKSMAN BONUS?!?!?! Are your developers in LA inhaling too much of the local flavour out there or what? You're reasoning for such a change, and I quote, was that "its existence promotes a less objective play style." Ok, fair enough. BUT NOW WHATS THE POINT OF THE RECON CLASS?! You might as well just go ahead and remove all single shot rifles and/or 20x-40x scopes because what bloody use do they serve now?! Whats a large scale battle WITHOUT SNIPING? Instead, why not halve the distance points awarded. That way, it'll put players off without RUINING A WHOLE CLASS. Sniping is one of the various aspects that sets BF apart from other first person shooters and you've absolutely botched it. Diabolical decision.

Map is a complete failure. You guys fucking aimed for infantry style combat, so you give us WIDE OPEN SPACES AND GOD DAMN TANKS? How about instead of creating your own maps, you allow players to use their own artistic abilities and create THEIR OWN maps? I have a group of friends that could easily make a PROPER Jungle map and knock DICE's one out of the park and into it's own grave where it belongs. Absolutely pathetic design, improper scale, and just plain bad. I've lost faith in your Developer Teams, DICE. What the hell happened to you guys?

This is the best shit the community comes up with? This map looks like it's been put together in a weekend. Back in the days when BF could really still be modded by the community we would have lauched really hard at this map and asked the creator when he would finish it. The whole temple side is totaly useless. Stratigical and geographicaly.

Why no Squad Obliteration? Since the removal of the Squad Rush game mode from BF3 this is the only mode that has a decent squad focus. Ok, there is Defuse to, but that ain't in this map either? Why can't we have these modes on all maps? I appreciate free content, but leaving out the modes for those of us that do not prefer the 64 player FLIR mayhem that seems to be what the masses enjoy is a shame.

jagmarky Battlefield is meant to be played on large maps with many players. This has been what it was from the start. If you don't like that, you don't like Battlefield. Go to CoD or Counter Strike if you've got a problem with it
