Lingekompaniet
Platoon Presentation
Welcome to the official Lingekompaniet platoon.
The name Lingekompaniet comes from the "Kompani Linge" which was established in 1941 by Martin Linge. Under the English name "Norwegian Independent Company No. 1 (NORIC 1)", they planned and orchestrated sabotage operations against the German forces which had occupied Norway during the second World War. Kompani Linge became legendary for it's incredible effort for Norway. At the end of the war, of the 530 Norwegians in the company, 57 had lost their lives for the cause.
Lingekompaniet was first established in 2003 as a Battlefield 1: Desert Combat clan. After the release of Battlefield 2, Lingekompaniet appeared as a new clan and 90 % of it's members were replaced. Lingekompaniet competed in Up North Battlefield 2-legaue in the seasons 2006/2007. Over the last years we have focused on playing Bad Company 2 on public servers. After the release of BF3 the members again gathers for unformal gaming among old friends on public serves, perhaps with a beer or even a cognac in the gear.
What separates Lingekompaniet from other clans is that many of our members know each other personally. We exist mainly with people from Northern Norway in the region between Narvik and Tromsø. The average age in Lingekompaniet is about 30 years old. In Battlefield 3 we accept friends of old LK-members as members of this platoon.
Lingekompaniet manages a Mumble VOIP server at the University of Tromsø.
We never deviate from our main purpose: "To play for fun, not to be the best".
