BF4 FOV Aiming down sights BUGGED. URGENT!!

In BF3, no matter what FOV you used you would always have the same FOV when aiming down sights.

In BF4 this is not the case, actually giving players with a high FOV a disadvantage when taking aim down sights.
And giving people with low FOV a disadvantage to their surroundings, but better aiming precision especially at distances.

Please lock the the FOV of aiming down sights the same way it was in BF3. This was fair, right now this is a bug and making me want some kind of macro or trick that will change fovs for me automatically till it is resolved. But knowing dice this bug will most likely never get resolved. Even though it was in BF3 and it made having a high FOV have a point! Now i feel like having a high FOV i am advantaged in close quarters and disadvantaged in the entire rest of the game, in terms of aiming.

Examples of aiming down sights with FOV change:

60 FOV : http://i.imgur.com/WpsY31l.png [i.imgur.com]
MAX FOV: http://i.imgur.com/59sCOIw.png [i.imgur.com]

Here is another example of what i mean by someone who realized this problem before me, with comparisons to what i meant in BF3.

Please lock the FOV for aiming down sights like it was in BF3. (I did tests before on BF3 to figure out this theory and FOV was locked down sights)
Coming to BF4 and now not knowing what the hell i should set my FOV as is headache worthy.

If you aren't going to do this, just lock FOV at 90 for everyone.
This clearly wasn't intentional because it wouldn't make any sense, people have greater advantage at aiming with a low FOV now and its no longer personal preference.

Edit: Looks like DICE will ignore this, even though it could be as simple as 5 lines of code to fix this problem. Looks like we are going to have BF3.5 The return of unresolved and ignored bugs.

Apparently it was "INTENTIONAL" https://twitter.com/Demize99/status/387116850200719360 [twitter.com]

But its hardly a great "FEATURE" if i love using the RDS, but dont want my FOV to be the exact same as when i am running around when im trying to aim at something, add a feature to turn this off please, or even better, allow us to customise the FOV we get on these RDS when we aim in, simply so we can choose whether we want wide perspective or narrow, but of course not above our current set FOV since that wouldnt make sense.

Noticed this in the Beta, that's why I'm using 90 FOV :/

But why use 90fov, when you could use 60fov ,and snipe people in the head with a pistol at 500 meters? and be unable to even see them with a acog at max fov?

Wow huge difference. Nothing compared to having the game on low settings tho (possibility to see thru all smoke)

Not bugged, not urgent, and I prefer it this way. Now I can run with a high FOV without it quickly zooming in to 65 whenever I aim. Also gives the illusion of lower recoil.

Uh, everything except the gun changes with FOV adjusts.

How can you prefer it this way? If i can aim clearly at your head with a pistol iron sights, and you cant aim at mine with a acog scope at the same distance because you are playing at max fov.

BF3 had this tweaked PERFECTLY, you would have your FOV when you were running around, it wouldn't effect aiming down sights, it wouldn't effect vehicles or anything except simply moving around as hipfire, that was balanced, perfect, fair.

This.. Just completely destroys the purpose of aiming down sights. When i aim down my sights at max fov, it shouldn't look like 200 meters away for me making the target harder to see and aim at, and 10 meters for a person of 60 fov who is essentially getting a sniper level zoom in comparison to me..

ADS should always, ALWAYS be locked to a certain FOV, and since 60 is the minimum, it should be this way.

Or at least add a second FOV setting for aiming down sights for us of those who don't want the illusion of firing at things that look further than they really are compared to everyone else, while keeping your "super zoomed out" acog scopes at 120fov if you so wish to have it while 60fov players can have a better zoom than you with iron sights.

If this isn't a bug, or some purely overlooked imbalanced feature... Then ... please, stop playing FPS.

I definitely see what you're saying, but that's just my preference. Maybe they could have an option or something.

A second FOV slider for aiming down sight would be perfect for you if you so wish to remain to be zoomed out while aiming in.

But if this is not implemented then FOV for aiming down sights should definitely be locked.

Its just unbalanced in too many ways as it is now..... It was perfect in BF3.. Why did they change this. -_-

THIS! MANY TIMES THIS! At least better the draw distance so I can SEE the other players, insted of just being there but invisible to me...

I know this is probably beta but this is exactly what happens to me, and its just fucking annoying:

Unrelated problem l4ns (that you posted). I never had issues with draw distance.

So much as finding out distance perception is screwed with FOV in BF4 when i take aim

Maybe this is why my accuracy is crap now when compared to BF3...

I knew something was wrong when I started playing the SP. The game just felt awful to me and I was having trouble seeing when ads after seeing enemy movement down range. Now I know why. This ish is awful and needs to be fixed as soon as they patch the game. Is there a way to adjust this in the config files?

If they were going to lock it, they should lock default FOV, not change the sight FOV.

But it is a bug, because i don't even need a 2X-4X scope to get 2-4X magnification , i just need to turn my FOV down to 60 and use the iron sights and possibly get even more magnication.

It is arguably, a hack. Not unlocked your acog or high zoom scopes yet? Just set FOV to 60 and you are sorted, set some macro's to perhaps change FOV in the console on the fly and have the best of both worlds.

This definitely needs to be changed.

Go shoot some targets in a empty server with a pistol on the lowest FOV around 50 meters, now scramble your mouse around a it (so your aim isn't dead on spot) and set it to the highest fov, i bet you can't hit the same marks you did before let alone even see them properly while aiming.

why? what, lol.

No more headache than getting zoom hacks for ironsight users simply using a low FOV.

No wonder i could barely see and aim at someone who could shoot me with every gun except a sniper and no magnification while trying to play at 90 and 120fov myself. They had a better zoom to aim at me with lol.

@L4ns Turn up your draw distance in your graphics options?

OT: That difference is huge lol. Although I suppose it has advantages and disadvantages so it should be fine. (:

There are no advantages, this is a hack for anyone who doesn't have zoom optics on their gun and wants to shoot long range. There is only disadvantages to being zoomed out while aiming down sights, it should be FIXED at a FOV when you aim down sights, same as BF3.

Worst of all its built into the damn game!
