He only did make the gun to protect his motherland, and most of the guns out there arent even made by Russians, mostly Chinese.

He cant be held for responsible for what others did with his design.

AK-47 has doesnt really have too much common with STG, its internally very different.

Stoner's key creation (the AR platform) is far more ergonomically correct, and more fluid in its use than the AK is. It's just more comfortable to shoot, for lack of a better word. It shoulders up easier and faster, the sight picture is substantially better (peeps for the win!), and the furniture doesn't burn you after a lot of firing. No, you can't drop an AR into a pool of mud, pick it up, and start firing it. But: who does that to their rifle, anyway?!

Mr. Kalashnikov designed an easy-to-build and easy-to-use rifle that could be stamped out cheaply by the thousands, very quickly. The goal was to help protect Russia and its surrounded conquered countries from a future invasion, having been burned by the Germans in WW2. He accomplished that goal, I think, and should be remembered for it. I think the gun is junk, and always will. But it accomplished its goal.

His creations didn't murder anyone. They're mechanical objects incapable of thought and free will. Plus he designed the AK to help protect his countrymen against the Germans and other potential invaders.
