modify your controls.
Ctrl, tab and caps keys are good to use. 1). ENLARGE and zoom map. you know where all spotted targets are on map 2). Tap Q to keep the target spotted and pop smoke and suppressors to remove your spot. 3) ZOOM 3rd person wide view when using a vehicle. learn to "hip fire" a tank or jet at short range, you will see all angles of incoming fire. 4). pop off your ~~~~~ key!! use your number keys for fast weapon cycling.

"Rope a dope" vehicle tips and tricks
Vehicles are fragile, handle your high explosive's carefully. if you are being bombed back off and pull the enemy back into friendly fire. when playing conquest I recap and clear the flag and I don't advance without backup.
1). learning to drive a tank or flying a chopper using the map only!! learning how to drive a tank in reverse by using your map is The best defensive tactic. Pop your smoke, making the fastest retreat possible and finding cover. I don't like my tank being shot at, so i will pull back and out shoot you.
2). the "invisible tank" trick. A tank can literally vanish from the map in cloud of smoke. spot your target, pop smoke and the noob never knew what hit him.
3). instantly "dope the scope"when using sniper rifles or tanks by using the map. it takes allot of practice using the map to make long range shots.
4).stop look and think. Is the team is on offensive or defense? is the team attacking a objective? if not hold the line. a defensive position is a great opportunity for a massive kill streak. Observe where and what your friendly's are doing and use team work.
5). hitting a vehicle at a 90 degree angle will do 10- 20% more damage. engaging a tank from the back is as good as dead. shooting a jet from a 90 degree angle is a 2 click kill.
6) "rope a dope" push the line, pull back and repair then repeat.

attack and scout choppers
I shoot 2-3 chopper's with my tank every game. why? if your chopper is being shot at by tanks, your doing it all wrong. Always use your map unless your playing with a jet. Attack chopper's are all about lining up shots for your gunner, staying out or range from tanks and guided rockets. its really simple to do if you can spot incoming fire before its to late. a good run with a scout chopper is one of the most exciting things in bf3. Its so satisfying wiping out incoming infantry, got to love that shit!. you got to have good ground support to use them properly, without it the tanks are going to own you. Remember how small the scout shopper is and how to hide it when under fire. How do you take out them annoying guided rocket campers? if you got a lock on you back off and find cover. look for the guided rocket smoke trail pointing directly at the incoming fire. the enemy will also be spotted on the map for a short time.

Jets
A dogfight is all about complex geometric maneuvering. maintaining a speed of 315 to 280 for the tightest turn possible. Using 3rd person wide angle view and "hip fire" at short range. understand the beneficial relationship between the AA gun and jet. predicting the enemy angle of attack and out maneuvering them. its relay hard to explain, but avoid exposing a 90 degree angle to the enemy's gun sight. when a jet is attacking you from the back "sizer roll" at a diagonal, making it very difficult for them to aim. stupid hackers don't know the best way to identify them is with a jet. 90% of them are cheat o meter.
