    What a defib does is it stops the heart and jump starts it again. Yes you can die from a defib. a defib is used when there is no pulse. You still have some irregular beating of the heart but the heart needs to be set back to a normal rhythm. If there is no quivering of the heart what so ever a defib will not work. You can punch down the jewls on the defib as high as you want and it won't do anything, that patient is dead. You have to remember if a defib is being used the patient is already dead. The only chance that patient has is that defib. Can a defib kill someone definitely if you use a defib in a person who is alive and talking and has a regular heart beat it will kill that person.
