From Halloween to All Saint’s Day, celebrate by getting double XP in Battlefield 3! That’s 96 hours of double XP that are now in full swing. Get double score on any map, any mode, on Ranked servers. Note: This event is only open for our Battlefield 3 Premium members.

After a weekend of air based vehicle combat, PC players are ahead of the pack, with Xbox 360 and PS3 players following closely behind. Remember, as soon as you collectively reach 2 million air kills on your platform, you’ll immediately unlock the new Death Dealer dog tag. Keep dog fighting / tank strafing, and we’ll get back with updated numbers on a regular basis so you can see who’s in the lead.

Are you ready to rule the skies? Starting October 26/27, fifteen Premium members who can rack up the most kills from the air will receive a limited edition lithograph from Battlefield 3. Read on for the full details.

The way you join and take part in the October Premium exclusive competition is unchanged from last month. If you are a Premium member, you will be able to join our Premium specific servers via the password that you receive below after having accepted the terms and conditions. The servers are all named “October Premium Competition” followed by a number and are available on all three formats via the server browser. Detailed instructions below.

How to join the October competition
1. Become a Premium member
Make sure you are a Premium member. This competition is exclusive to our more than 1.5 million Premium members.

2. Download Armored Kill
The competition will run in Conquest/Conquest Large game mode from Armored Kill only, so make sure you have downloaded Armored Kill (available at no extra charge if you are a Premium member). Download instructions.

3. Join our servers
Find one of the Premium exclusive competition servers. These will all be named “October Premium Competition” and have a number attached to it. You can search for this name using the manual server browser’s filter functionality.

4. Enter the server password
Enter the password for the Premium exclusive competition server. You will find the password when confirming below that you have read and agreed to the terms and conditions for this competition.

5. Dominate the air
During 48 hours, we will monitor who can accumulate the most kills from the air in Armored Kill (i.e. from jets, helicopters, and the gunship). Be one of the top 5 on your format to win a limited edition, signed and numbered lithograph featuring artwork from Battlefield 3.

Competition times
The competition runs the 48 hours of Saturday and Sunday October 27-28. Note that we use the UTC timezone to decide start and end times. Click this link to see when the start time corresponds to in your time zone. Technically, the competition will start already on Friday evening October 26 if you are located on the west coast of America, for example.

Maps and modes played
The map rotation will be all maps in Armored Kill playing in Conquest mode (consoles) and Conquest Large (PC).

Winners notification
Winners will be posted on Battlelog shortly after the competition ends, and then contacted via email with a winner’s code they can redeem at the DICE Store to claim their price and have it shipped to them. This competition is only open to Premium members. If you are not a Premium member, you will not be able to join the competition servers.

This month, you all have the chance to unlock the new dog tag “Death Dealer”! This challenge is open to all, but if you participate in the October Premium competition, you will automatically contribute to the dog tag challenge at the same time, so there is no need to choose between the two.

Your challenge: Reach 2 million kills from the air

As soon as all players on your platform collectively reach the goal, we will unlock the new Death Dealer dog tag on your platform. All platforms will get the dog tag individually once they have reached the goal, so the sooner you get there, the sooner you get your reward.

We start counting air kills at the same time as the October ingame competition kicks off, October 27 at 00:00 UTC. So polish up those helicopter and jet fighting skills and make sure you contribute to the number of air kills this month.
